@Mr Miyagi
LOL, it just might be that. In my apartment, things go missing all the time. I'm still looking for my brand new iPhone from a year ago, lol.
@haki
I'm using the 512 M2 that came with the phone
I'm running R1FA035 freshly flashed through KulenKendi when it came out, for those wondering. |

I suspected that microSD's were more vulnerable but...!!! It also troubles me that you were running the latest firmware. One final question: What is the manufacturing week of your unit? Is it one of the early production units manufactured in late 2007 and early 2008? |

I realized its not that bad anymore. Most of the pics were of my ex-girlfriend and I, so its probably for the best they were gone:):). I'm just hoping this doesn't happen again in the future.
The manufacturing date is March 2008 according to the stamp on the battery. |

There is a 3-point pressure-sensitive film that makes the keys function. The earlier K850's were very sensitive paricularly when dust got in there through the space between the screen cover and the lower keypad. Later they improved this film and the problem was practically solved. Now, since yours started reacting this way, there is nothing that will bring make it fully operational again. Take a deep breath and head for the nearest service point. At least you will get a "new-generation" replacememnt film and your problem will be solved. |

Thanks haki
but i noticed that when the keys stop responding, a simple press of the camera focus key makes them working again. Or if i wait for some seconds then it also helps... so it seems like a software issue... isn't it?
if its hardware related then it should'nt work even if i wait for 1min.
I dont want to send it to the dealer again... though its still under warranty..
Should i reflash the phone with the same firmy via SEUS?

@SupermansZ24 Ive had the same thing happen to me too.
I just removed the memory card from the phone & then put it back in the phone & everything was still on the card. |

I think that different key-press sequences might cause voltage fluctuations/spikes that make the touch-keys functional but they become irresponsine after a while. A reflash would certainly be a good idea but I'm afraid that it will not restore full functionality, at least not forever! I'm not a technician but this is what an SE repairman told me and it sounds logical...engineering-wise. |

Well, after saying just a few days ago that since updating to the latest firmware, guess what? Its gone back to crashing all the time again, must have done it a dozen times over the weekend. I really, really hate this phone now |

A small annoying bug in K850i:
The phone sets the default theme Crystal each time after being used in the Mass Storage mode provided the theme is located on the memory card.
This also happens in the case when the phone reboots itself.
The solution is to copy the required (favourite) theme (to be set) on the Phone Memory.
But this bug should be fixed in the next update.

Why even bother, all they do is change the name and say that it is perfect?! |
