When I bought my phone it has Adriatic software 029, and I managed to update it to 037, but after that it was changed in a phone service to Central Europe software (it wasn't a SonyEricsson center, and I don't realy know what procedure did they use to change the language pack...) with the characterictics mentioned above. I hope that I'll manage to make updates...
Is that absolutely necesarry to be fully charged the phone battery? Because I tried now at 20%. However the update service says there is no update available, your phone is up-to-date.
If I try to update it fully charged is that possilbe to make a succesful update?

Hi. The Service Centre you've just visited had turned your CDA into the invalid one. The correct CDA for A2 phones should be xxxx-xxxx. The x represent a digit. For example 1201-8437. Your CDA CDA102295/1 R11A is NOT a valid one for K850. Therefore, SEUS couldn't update your phone to the latest version. You can change your CDA via www.davinciteam.com or www.kulankendi.com . I tried going through the continue anyway and managed to get it to do a master reset. It goes through it and then reboots and has the please wait and bar going across but seems to restart itself before the bar completes and gets in an endless loop of saying please wait.
I don't mind giving this davinci thing a go as i know how slow and painful sending stuff back to the service center can be. Just no idea what i am looking for really when i get there as theres a few firmwares for the k850i. Mines a phone in the UK that was originally on o2 i believe but was unlocked. It was a friends old one so i can't be certain of the original network till i ask them.

I tried MobyToday a few weeks ago on my R1CA037 K850i, but it is not allowed to be used as wallpaper. I installed on the phone memory. When I had K800i it worked. |

Well, I just wasted 10 Euros. I bought DaVinci credits, flashed my phone with the Customised PT/Generic/ Western Europe firmware, which should have changed the CDA but didn't, so now instead of "1201-0077 R11A / 1200-5441 R1DA038/1E0W/WESTERN-EURO" it shows "1201-0077 R11A / 1200-5441 R1CA037/WESTERN-EURO", but SEUS still refuses to update it. |

Well davinci let you choose either to flash with the same CDA or change it,are you sure that the firmware you used didnt had the same CDA?

The most recent unbranded UK firmware on Da Vinci is 'K850i R1CA037 CID52 K850 1201-9794 CUSTOMIZED UK/ BLUE WESTERN-EUROPE'
I flashed to that from Vodafone, then updated to the new firmware on SEUS without problems
It doesn't make a difference what the original network was

I chose 1202-4087 CUSTOMIZED PT/ BLUE, so shouldn't it have changed my CDA to 1202-4087?

no, because I don't want to update to the new firmware, because of the reboots and the battery(I am very satisfied with the battery on my R1CA037).
Did you tried it on your R1EA031 and it works? |

This happened to me a couple of time too, you have to put the camera back on and exit again.

Just went to the davinci site and downloaded the client to run a scan on the phone and this is what it came out with (below). Will the one you suggested still work? Is there anything glaringly obvious that is wrong with it that SEUS screwed up when it did the update?
Oh and finally is the davinci stuff simple to do? From what i can see is you purchase the credit. Login. Let it do the scan. Do a software update. Select what you want and go? What makes this different from the SEUS updating way? Just so i know it definitely stands a good chance of working. Does it do a complete wipe and then install the firmware where as the other one just updates a couple of files?

After upgrading to 31 from 38 the phone is behavin itself much better! its now on its 4th day with no charge, leave it on at night aswel, 18% left. Only use GSM, no 3g which prob helps, but way better than the 2day max i was gettin on 38. No reboots at all (except the one every1 seems 2 hav immediately after update). loving the vibrate on touch, handy when ur on the phone and feel it vibrate, u now know ur face is pressin the buttons. less lag when writin messages and usin the phone in general. less flash burn on pics. Best firmware to date, and I've had them all. | |
