See posts earlier in this thread... it is *very* hard to speak to anyone at VF who knows what we're talking about.
And even when they seem to you can't trust what they say... a while ago I was told that they do not intend to use SEUS to distribute updates, a month later the R7 update (still the latest Voda one) appeared on SEUS...
I'll debrand as soon as I find someone local doing it, can't do without the phone even for 2 days!

I am not sure if it is still the case, but Vodafone were NOT actualy offering technical support on the P990i all the support I got when I first got my P990i was direct from but they cannot help re FW updates as they will simply refer you back to Vodafone its a true catch 22 situation! I am getting mine debranded as a last attempt to see if this phone will ever do what I need it to do
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

I just changed my handset CDA using KulanKendi to world generic CDA162007/1. Then updated via SEUS to organizer version R4B03. Worked perfectly

Hooray, thanks Sainty!
I'll give that a go and remove these pointless shackles.
Has anyone pointed out to the Vodafone marketing department - who I expect are responsible for 'branded' firmware - that the only time anyone sees their logo is when the phone restarts, which is probably due to a phone crash, which isn't much of a sales point...

It is brilliant, I'm suprised no other server type flashing program has done this yet. Such as davinciteam etc

gets over the "you'll void your warranty" or "you'll Void your insurance" worries, just change the cda back if you ever need to take it to be repaired anywhere!
Not that i could ever be that dishonest!

i want the new firmware too as the voda one doesn't work too well with my Z4M Bluetooth carkit, just went to go to KulanKendi to do this, but when i download the client I'm getting a virus warning....
i take it all you need to do is change the CDA to CDA162007/1 then SEUS the mofo and i'm sorted ?
nice. |

Yep thats it in a nutshell really. And the program does NOT have a virus in, its just compressed using a compressor tool which makes crappy anti-virus software think its a virus/trojan etc
