I agree, its silly that the Bluetooth headset remains connected.
However, i disagree that the K700i has poorer Bluetooth implementation. The K700i has a stronger Bluetooth signal than such phones as the T610, it transfers files much faster and connects quicker. Also, real time device discovery and the ability to refresh found devices is a joy to use.
HID profiles are also great - unfortunately they dont work with my crappy Bluetooth dongle.

Well thats because the handsfree profile is supported on the P910 (and used by default) and it wasn't on the P800/P900.
In fact what everyone seems to be complaining about is not a bluetooth implementation as such but the handsfree profile that newer SE handsets use with headsets by default. Holding onto the connection (although the link is not active) is a feature of the handsfree profile over the headset profile.
It is exact. SE have implemented the Bluetooth profile HandSet that makes it run with handsfree car and other audio devices for that it is a good features.
But the very bad is that they don't give choice to user to select which Bluetooth profiles it should use. For me it is a very bad thing because a use 3 differents SE bluetooth phones at the same time (for bussiness) with only one Bluethooth headset. With my old phones (P900, T610, T68i) and my headset HBH-35 it was OK. Any phone who was in use, i could use my HBH-35 to call. But with my new P910, and K700, that would not be possible anymore !!! because if the headset support the Handfree profile, the phone select it by defauft and there is possiblity that change that !!!
Because i would not use one different headset with each phone, i had to buy a non SE headset which give the possiblity to select to BT profile to use. The only problem in use is that this non SE headset use different chargers ( not SE charger) so it is not very practical.
I have send a lot of mail to SE to speak about this problem but for now and more than 6 months, so solutions. I think if this problems cause some issue to you(like me), you have to makes a lot of mail to SE support, they only makes something when a lot of custommers are complain about a problem....

I also have the same problems with my k700i and the bluetooth profiles. Also if you connect your phone to the PC over bluetooth and then try to browse for files the k700 freezes.
The irony of the whole situation is that Ericsson invented bluetooth.

Yeah, it was Ericsson... BT was first implemented in their phones. BTW never had problems with my phone freezing while using it with a PC over BT.

The one area I would agree is a step back however is that on the T610 it was possible to switch whether the heasdset of handsfree profile was used (by setting the handsfree type to either automatic or powersave). This has not been possible with newer phone models so you seem to be stuck in handsfree mode.

I didn't know that t610 had this feature.
Was it still present in t630?
If they had only left this setting in k700i it would solve all my problems with BT. Too bad... I dont understand why they took it out.
If you are using many bluetooth devices and a headset which supports handsfree profile the BT implementation in k700i is definitely a step backward IMHO.
@Venomous: have you got the latest SW in your phone? SE helpdesk said that battery issues when using BT has been fixed in later SW releases.

@Floke
what i have is R2A003, i dont know whether its new or not, but i tried upgrading it from SE site, it dint start either... Yes i have DSS-25. i dint try more in this regard as i dint want to wind up loosing my files in it already.
my second question still remain unanswered... " is there any software that would allow the BT in SE to enable pairing, i mean by using the HF and file transfer at the same time.

Good to see my thread springing back to life!
Which problem in particular, hacke? I have R2AE033, and the functionality is the same--i.e., no better, and I need to turn off my headset or manually disconnect it to transfer sound to my car handsfree. |
