I love my new k700. But i liked the bluetooth in the t6xx much better. Why won't the phone release the :b: connection? Leaving it connected seems to sun down the battery on my HBH-600, but disconnecting it or turning off the headset is a pain. Anyone else here think :b: has gone into reverse with the K700? Am i missing something that would make my :b: life easier with the K700? Thanks!

I totally agree with you, the BT implementation in the K700 is a joke. Even the t68i is superior when it comes to BT.

I own a T610 and the bluetooth works fine. In what way is the Bluetooth in K700i any different?

Excuse me for my ignorance but I would like to have this basic question answered.

I don't get the point why BT on the K700 would be a 'joke'.

With the t610/630, you pair your headset, put the phone in automatic mode, and voila--everything just works. Phone rings, the call is transferred to your headset. You hang up the call, the phone and headset disconnect. Every now and then, the headset misses a call, but on the whole it was predictable, efficient and effective.

On the K700i on the other hand, the phone "holds on" to the connection with the headset after a call ends. This (seems to) drain battery on the headset. It also locks up the connection on the phone. For example, I was using my headset this afternoon. Then I jumped into my ( handsfree-equipped) car, and tried to make a call on the car handsfree. The car couldn't connect to the phone, because the headset was occupying the bluetooth connection. I had to turn off the headset (or disconnect it manually on the phone) to get the phone to accept a connection from the car handsfree.

It also doesn't seem to send calls to the headset as reliably, despite being connected all the time; I'm constantly picking up calls on the phone, only to then transfer them to the headset.

So, does anyone else have these problems? Is it just me? Am I doing something wrong? Is it just "different" from the t6xx, and I haven't figured it out yet, or am I right in thinking it's worse?

I totaly agree, Its one BIG step backwards for the new K700i! .. in fact, also the newer S700i has the same damn problem! .. Now SE should do something to fix that problem in the next S/W version, which shouldnt be a problem at all, since they got it the right way on T610/630 years before.

1. Pairing problems. When pairing new devices I ususlly have to do it two ore three times before it get s right. Usually the device comes up as "unknown" the first couple of times.
2. Always connected. When a device is connected it stays "on" constantly which makes the standbytime<=talktime for a BT headset. I need to recharge my HBH-200 three times per work day...
3. Unstable. BT gets switched off for no apparent reason, now and then BT is "busy" when no devices are connected and the phone has to be rebooted.
4. Connecting problems. I often have to turn the BT on and off a couple of times to get the phone to recognize a device even after it has paired OK.

I use my phone and BT with two computers, one Palm and two different handsfree sets and the K700i is completely useless in that environment with all its problems so I have reverted back to my trusty T68i and will probably buy a T630 to replace it. The K700 has been to the shop for upgrades and testing twice but the functionality just isn't there, "it will probably be fixed in the next release" according to my dealer.

I've used the t68i until lately when it broke down and I had to get me a k700i.
The t68i worked almost flawlessly with Bluespoon AX and Palm Tungsten. I could answer a call with the headset and then later connect to internet without having to disconnect the headset first. This is all gone with k700.
I experience the same problems as in the posts above and think k700i is really useless
I hope there is a new SW version to fix this.
Does anyone have info on new SW?
Does anyone have a workaround or have you all threwn the k700i away?

@jagger2k: Yes, it seems to work OK to connect to a PC, palm etc if I NEVER use my headset.
But thats the big deal with Bluetooth: to use a headset IMHO.
I guess I have to get rid of it

Well thats because the handsfree profile is supported on the P910 (and used by default) and it wasn't on the P800/P900.

In fact what everyone seems to be complaining about is not a bluetooth implementation as such but the handsfree profile that newer SE handsets use with headsets by default. Holding onto the connection (although the link is not active) is a feature of the handsfree profile over the headset profile.

The one area I would agree is a step back however is that on the T610 it was possible to switch whether the heasdset of handsfree profile was used (by setting the handsfree type to either automatic or powersave). This has not been possible with newer phone models so you seem to be stuck in handsfree mode.

Hi guys..

I face the same problem like grimslade and other have mentioned. i mean the other night i searched in n out of my k700i to see the option to have it paired and very true when u are on BT handsfree, the battery starts to zip real fast... strange but true! i think SE must do something to enhance the abilities of BT in K700i than to reserve it for their new models... i mean whats our fault.. is it that we took their words for it??

guys.. does anyone around knows some software that could enhance the k700i BT capabilities?
