Seen this article this aft and called a friend at nokia. He say's the rumours are rubbish and it is to come out. No date as yet, due to some bugs on the series 90 platform, but should be released Q3 2004 about same time as 9510! Looks like the rumour mill has started up again and someone has been spinnin you a line-pardon the pun! LOL

Infosync recently stated that Nokia has admitted to killing off the Nokia 7700, their first Series 90 Symbian OS device.

Hopefully they will come back with a non-Taco form factor in the future.

more news on the now-defunct 7700 here:

seems that lack of suitable services was a major issue, and unofficially so was the design.

Actually I have sent an email to Nokia, asking them about the Nokia7700, and they replied saying that the PHONE will be out in 2005.They didn't say anything about killing totaly the phone... Just postponing the date of release...

It's a shame I loved the look of the UI. But they say the OS will be making an appearence in 2005, so that's something to look forward to

Notice the:

Nokia will be using the 7700 for trial purposes only, and they have no current plans to make it commercially available.

I'm really sorry for those who like it, but I think it's one of the ugliest devices I've ever laid eyes upon!! When something's that ugly, I don't even care what it can do...
