Hi to all i hope this turns out o.k i am a new user and i hope i dont screw it up.
I just brought an O2 online Sim pack, the phone has all the right mms settings and mms has been "set up" yet i get the message user barred.
I searched esato and found i was not he only one with this probelm but no1 had a soloution. i found it and here it is:
Phone O2 Data Services on 09068950504. The call is 60p a min but it DOES work.
Basically there are several systems O2 use for ending MMS. The problem occours when one system has not been updated to enable mms on ur phone number even if the primary one has. This is why the muppets on the normal O2 help line say mms has been set up cuz they get view the primary system. Dont phone them, they are a waste of time.
I hope this helps you all. GPRS WAP and MMS do run in case ne1has been reading the other threads and thinks they can only use one.

Thanks for that phone number above, which i rang at 11pm Friday night and got through first time.
I told the guy that i had USER BARRED for MMS on my SE Z600 phone.
This is what he said:-
1. Make sure GPRS is selected as the MAIN profile in CONNECTIVITY. The connect to the net which i did and disconnect.
2. Take a photo with cam and SAVE it.
3. Go to MESSAGING, PICTURE, WAP PROFILE and then he asked me what was the selected profile i had in there. Told him it was called 02 UK MMS Postpay (which i had downloaded the profile from this site http://www.sonyericsson.com/uk/ after getting the GPRS settings i needed from this site http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html ).
4.Go back to MESSAGING, PICTURE, CREATE NEW, then ADD the picture i saved in the my pictures folder and send it to his mobile (which i did).
After doing all that i nearly fell over with shock because the MMS was sent ok!!!!!!!
Now i had my O2 UK MMS Postpay profile setup to connect using the GSM Profile even though GPRS was set as the main Profile (all very confusing i know!!!) but the MMS was still sent ok. (he made a point of saying it had to be GPRS set in the main profile for MMS to work).
My conclusion is..............
Even though i now have MMS working im confused because i put my MAIN profile for connecting to the net back to what i had it as when MMS didnt work (02 GSM WAP) and MMS still works perfect!
So i basicaly havent changed anything apart from doing what he said in that order and the guy promised me he hadnt changed any settings at his end (who knows maybe he did switch something on).
Im Happy
and i hope my ramblings make a little sense to you guys and help you out in getting it all working. If not ring that o2 data services number and see what happens!

fonzy, thx for the number, ive finally got mine fixed after like a month, and after O2 sent me a replacement SIM (yea I tried everything lol)
when i first got my phone (april 05) MMS worked fine, but about a month ago stopped all of a sudden, and got the stupid 'user barred' thing :-s
when I got on to data services, they said it was because one of the servers they used crashed a little while ago, and loads of peoples accounts got deleted, which may explain for a load of other people on this forum with the same problem?
You'd think O2 could tell their normal phone services people that when someone rings with this problem, they've got to phone data services, because like many other people on here, I spent ages on the phone to O2 and they said it should all be working fine. It seems to be a pretty common issue should be added to a list of FAQs somewhere in the land of O2 oh well
