Another day, another wave of Apple rumours - this time about the potential demise of the iPhone 5.
A Chinese source claims the company will stop making its current flagship phone when it releases its upcoming, rumoured, iPhone 5S and iPhone Lite models.

The reports claims Apple wants to focus its attentions on, and ultimately promote more sales of, the newer designs.
These rumours come at the same time Apple is said to be having production difficulties with the new phones, in particular the iPhone 5S, meaning the release date could be pushed back to the end of September.

Lot's more info on this one HERE

Hmm some things just don't jive right. Apple released their quarterly earnings early last week (or the week prior). This means June was the end of their quarter and now we're 1 month in (July, August, September). Apple typically releases new products just at the end of a quarter to maximize quarterly sales & its just easier for reporting; not to mention analysts love that.

iPhone 5 still has a lot of units awaiting sales across the globe, and users waiting to replace existing ones from self non-warranty damaged units. As a company you don't discontinue your hottest selling product (bar none) before a much better one replaces it - even if you're close to bankruptcy (which Apple is not!). Should the rumor that Apple's iPhone 5S be a budget device that debuts alongside a higher end iPhone 6 simultaneously ... then the iPhone 5 will probably get reblessed with 8GB of RAM and sell for less. Reason?? - because it offers a current chipset that supports AirDrop/AirPlay in iOS7 that works synergistically with the latest laptops/desktops for seemless end user experience. Maybe not all countries will see the iPhone 5 8GB refreshes IF and IF the iPhone 5S PolyCarbonate & iPhone 6 debut simultaneously.

I'm VERY curious to see how Apple markets both devices in web/tv/print ads.
