I have got an htc one s which has got a non-removable battery(Li-ion) of 1650 mAh.
I recently read a post about that batteries tend to lose its capacity with ageing.

But as my phone has got a non-removable one, how can I make it live longer?
Please help.

You can't, but even the non-removable batteries can be removed, You'll have to remove some screws and it's much harder than normal, but it's possible to remove battery

See this for example. http://htcsource.com/2012/05/[....]-to-disassemble-the-htc-one-s/

Lithium based batteries ( specially Lithium-Ion and Lithium-Pol which are used in current smartphones and laptops ) fixed some of the older Ni-MH batteries problems like memory problem, but they come with their own problems also...

they tend to be sensitive to temperature and fast charging... but temperature is more important

just keep the phone as cool as you can, ofcourse I don't mean to put it in the fridge but when having intensive usage ( like gaming ) the phones get's hotter, try to place it or hold it in a way to be cooler, some casing seems to make it hotter ( like silicon cases )...

Fast charging using high current chargers will cause the phone to get hot ( the regulator in the phone will get hot ), so while you can use chargers that give 1.0A or 1.2A to make charging more quickly, this will increase the heat... so if you can keep the phone cool while charging it will be better... or in situations where you don't really want to charge it quickly...

personally I have a bluetooth headphone charger that is too slow ( 350mAh ) I use this charger every night for charging... it does not make the phone hotter duo to slow charging, it needs too much time to charge thought... my Note 2 will need 6+ hours to fully charge depending on how much it has originally, but as I'm already sleeping so I don't care... the phone never get hot with such low charging current...

The batteries in smartphones are called protected Li-Pol ( or Li-Ion ) they have a small circuit to protect the battery cell from overheating, overcharging or what ever that will cause the battery to fail... when that circuit fails ( some times it fails specially when the phone get too hot ) the problems will come do to the lithium in the battery... fire hazard or explosion can occur... some laptops and phones have failed and the battery goes nuts with fire or explosion.. just google it and see

I hear one useful tip about modern smartphone batteries which has helped all mine keep their life as long as possible.

Keep the phone fully charged as much as you can. When not in use at home, put it on charge. If you're at work and able to do so, put it on charge. In the car ? put it on charge using a car charger.

Topping up the battery as often as possible will help it keep its life. Also, never letting the phone go to 0% capacity will help, not letting the phone drop below 50% helps.

I keep a charger in my living room, my bedroom, my office at work and in the car.

thanks admad and Xajel for sharing your valuable knowledge.

but etaab, I am not sure that keeping your phone always on charging will be good for phone battery, as I have learnt that battery should be charged when its down to about 15% for maximum battery life.
