really liking this phone 16GB is best no use getting the 8GB to low memory would be hard to resell it.

Posted by Tsepz_GP
16GB max!? Thats far too little, i hope there's a 32GB variant in the works. Other than the memory, great phone!

Posted by Bonovox
wow!! LG have come a long way and their recent Quad core devices have been said to have zero lag.

Posted by tranced
These are decent specs. I'm sure this phone is not quite high-end because Google wants to get this phone to a lot of people.

I'd be pretty happy with 16GB. I don't ask for much. Its design is amazing. Love its back.

Posted by Bonovox
Well I live with 16 gig in my Lumia.

Posted by Indiandawg
I love the photo sphere feature!

Posted by Bonovox
I don't like the design though, the back is horrible but again great specs

Posted by pt020
I like the design of the phone front and back, looks much better than on the prototypes
If I did not have the N7 it night have been my first LG.

Posted by tranced
Now that I look at the design again, it remembered me the Prada. That's just me. Don't judge me.

Posted by bhavitsoft
Good features n LG Nexus is there. But as HDMI is not available. Connectivity problem ?

Posted by Supa_Fly
Great design, great price, solid features! LTE being as disparate in global areas; right choice to leave it out. Rather have battery life using this beaut than anything else. MHL supports HDMI via USB port on this device

PS: My IP5 is very envious right now. Anyone have a solid notes app that does NOT require internet connection to create new entries?!

Posted by Bonovox
Main problem for me is it's Android

Posted by Lightspeed_x
@Bonovox: It seems you're faring well with WP. Is it that nice?... I'm thinking about a Lumia 920 but yet undecided.

Do Windows Phone have a decent black/whitelist app in the market?

Posted by Bonovox
Yes I love WP & with WP8 now out it's even better. You'll never experience lag on WP. What you mean by black/white list?? The apps are now at 120,000 and growing everyday. Windows Metro UI is beautiful and amazing to use.

I mean a blacklist and/or whitelist app for calls, ala Sony Ericsson A200 software platform, or more recently Android apps such as Root Call Blocker Pro.

Such apps are really useful to me

Heh, shame you wont be getting WP8 then unless you change phones.

I like this phone but i think they would have been better suited to sticking with Samsung.

The total lack of large capacity storage ruins the phone entirely. I filled up my SGS3 internal memory recently. Without its SD card i'd be in a very difficult situation.

Posted by Bonovox
Yeah I will get the new features and home screen in 7.8 anyway. Am looking to get WP8 soon enough. Video sample from Nexus 4. Noisy distorted sound

I can imagine it being rather poor. You'd spend so much time uploading and downloading to and from dropbox with such limited storage.

This app is for hongkong users
http://www.windowsphone.com/e[....]c4-be81-469e-87bb-acc05087e86c

Still Windows Phone 8 offers limited options for apps and things most tech savvy users require that their used to on S60/UIQ/Android.

Still, I find this Nexus4 to be a solid product.

Comparison with previous generation:
http://versusio.com/en/google[....]4-vs-samsung-galaxy-nexus-16gb

37% smaller semiconductor size/newer CPU: 28nm vs 45nm
2.5x faster CPU clock speed:
4x 1.5Ghz vs 2x 1.2Ghz
20% more battery power
It can be charged w/o any plugs and wires similar to electric shavers or toothbrushes (as extra)
1.0gb more RAM memory

It can automatically shoot pictures with an higher dynamic range (HDR)
On some displays, especially AMOLED, two pixel share one subpixel like green; screens w/o sharing are crisper

To be honest i think all the app stores are about the same. I know people will say Apple has the most closely followed and about to be overtaken than Android, but to be honest you wouldnt know because theres simply more apps than anyone would ever get time to use.

So i agree, app counts are pretty pointless. On my devices i find usually i install 50 apps or less.

But i dont think the Microsoft Marketplace does itself any favours with app enthusiasts with how its laid out. It offers only a small amount of apps per screen and even then you have to click through links to open more.

Indeed, although, IMO, id say its more tech savvy functions than apps that are missing in WP. The lack of Instagram and Flipboard are part of the reason that make me not even consider WP yet for my next phone, but the bigger things for IMO is lack of Bluetooth file transfer of any media, lack of "true" multitasking, lack of customizability, lack of a wider range of codec support, no notification center and no Mass Storage (WTF Microsoft!??) amongst other minor things.

Anyway, im hoping there are 32GB and 64GB variants of this coming, with a CPU+GPU like that this thing is ready for some serious gaming and media consumption.

And thats great for you, but not for all of us, for me and many others WP is still lacking quite a bit, and with Android adding more with each OS update on top of being very mature already i begin to doubt if i'll ever jump to WP, unless i was forced to or if i get given a WP in a competition.

UK pricing is £239 and £279 respectively, not as simply as converting the US cost due to taxes etc.

ah ok. thanks bro. I will buy then in US to get it more cheaper..

@luwi:

Are your Google account, credit card and address all US based? If not, you won't be able to purchase the N4 from the US Play Store.

Posted by >500
@luwi
Dont forget to add state sales tax to the US price.... When you add that, its not that big of a price difference. Australias price, when you factor in the US tax to the US price, it only works out to about $25 more... Not bad me thinks!

Posted by randomuser
Just a FYI -

Nexus 4 uses Sony IMX111PQ image sensor with LG lens.

@TeeGee, >500,

I'm planing to get it thru my cousin in US. Can i give my credit card details to purchase thru her google account? or much better, i'll send money thru western union.

Where do you think the best place to get it thru google store since it is currently blocked in dubai. I have relatives in Canada, USA, UK and Japan that i can ask them to get nexus 4 and 10 for me. Just give some advise, pls. Thanks.

@luwi

TeeGee is right, to buy the N4 from the Play Store, the buyer's Google Account, credit card and address need to be in the same country, so your cousin in USA won't be able to buy it with your credit card, unless that's from the USA. When your credit card is from Dubai it won't be possible, nor in UK, Canada, Japan, etc.

Maybe you can send one of your relatives the money through WU, so they can buy your N4 with their own credit card ?

People in my country (the Netherlands) have the same problem, the phone isn't available in Google's store, and it seems, LG will be selling it at almost twice the price. With a 250 euro price difference, many people will lose their interest though.

Thanks marly! I think the best option now is to send money thru western union to my cousin in USA to get nexus 4 or I will buy online like clove if the price difference is not much compare to original price.

Nexus 4 battery life very bad apparently:
http://androidheadlines.com/2[....]hone-5-other-lte-handsets.html

I sold my SGS3 to buy either the Nexus 4 or the Note II. Looks like on the battery side, these are the opposites of each other...

I'm taking battery life comments with a pinch of salt at the moment, waiting for that OTA to drop before really judging the software side of things...

The Note 2 is a beast when it comes to battery life, hopefully the N4 wont be that far behind on release firmware...

I did see another review somewhere stating battery was poor. Maybe early software

Nexus 4 sells out in U.K. Play Store in 30 minutes

The Nexus 4 is clearly the best value money can buy by a long shot. There is no competition in sight at its price point and you don't need much other proof besides the fact that Google sold out of its initial Nexus 4 devices in 30 minutes after it launched on the U.K. Play Store.

Not just that, many users trying to place an order had problems with the Devices section in the Play Store, and on their second attempt the coveted Nexus 4 was already out of stock in both its versions.

The Nexus 4 phone is a 4.7-inch device packed with the best hardware out there: a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and an 8-megapixel camera.

The Nexus 10 32GB has also obviously sold out now , while the 16GB one is still in stock, but it could have well sold out in minutes as well.

While we are waiting for the Nexus 4 and 10 to launch in the United States, we would definitely keep on hitting the refresh button on the Play Store often, hoping to be able to place an order before it sells out.

We don't know whether it is tight supply or the huge demand, but it seems that Google is right on the money with its latest devices.

Yep, epic FAIL from the big G.

Got an email notifying me its available at 8:40am, got to the office at 9am and they were all gone!

Posted by etaab
It depends on how many units they had, since they give no information about how many they had we cant say its a fail.

If they had 10 million and sold them all, i wouldnt say thats a fail. Of course 10 million is a bit optimistic.

Posted by Caspa
How many could be sold in 30 minutes, surely not enough to save them from the epic fail?

I'm intrigued to see when I get another availability email, I'm hoping days rather than weeks.
