Actual Photos Taken With The Iphone 5 !!!

Posted by Miss UK
They moved the headphone slot by the charger port thankgod that will help alot if out or have to make a call
in the drizzle rain cos apple have put the water indicator in those ports

I actually like this design it doesn't look much different to the other iPhones but it really does look rather smart!
and I can' decide whether I like the black or the white both look rather nice

intrested to hear those badboys speakers on it and the headphones how those sound

Posted by Bonovox
Those photos are not anything better nor worse than Sony,Samsung or Nokia. It's got a 4 inch screen,REVOLUTIONARY!! Not.

Quote from GSM Arena:
The camera features the same 8megapixel sensor as the on on the iPhone 4S, but the sensor is 25% smaller this time. There is a newly announced panorama mode, which obviously stitches together full res photos as the sample showcased had 28megapixel resolution.

28 meg res is that true??
Also why don't Apple ever mention,RAM,clock speed or how many cores??

28 meg res is that true??

Why not? One pic is 3264x2448, that gives 8MP, so if You take 4 photos and join them side by side, You will get 4x3264x2448, that gives stunning and AMAZING 32MP, in theory You could get infinite MP photos

Also why don't Apple ever mention,RAM,clock speed or how many cores??

They do if they can brag about it. This time it's probably overclocked version of CPU used in 4S, so no need to talk about it, huh?:D

Exactly, did i miss something or did Apple claim (like they normally do) they've invented a 28mp camera ? which isnt true, as said above anyone can stitch a bunch of 8mp or even my N8 can stitch 12mp pictures together.

Anyway, my thoughts on the iPhone 5:

Pros

- Looks great once again
- Welcome increase in screen size
- umm..

Im trying to think what else impresses me or appeals to me but im afraid thats all i can think of.

Cons

- Looks great, BUT the stretched screen looks a bit ridiculous
- Welcome screen increase but would have preferred it to have increased in width too !
- No NFC - complete crime in 2012, i use Android beam daily on my SGS3 now with my girlfriend
- No expandable memory - again WTF were they thinking !
- im guessing still no proper Bluetooth file transfers or support for other more complicated profiles other than headsets
- the usual multitasking nonesense that doesnt actually multitask

I like the iPhone 5, especially in black, but i cant find a single shred of worth that makes me want one more than my SGS3. Nothing appeals to me about it less so than the iPhone 4.

Heres my other thoughts, but mainly on Apple after todays announcement

- They dont give exact details of processor architecture - in other words they've nothing to boast about
- Their promo video is so over the top and cheesy, i felt sick watching those complete Apple cretin employees talking such nonesense about how its made, about how great it is and how it can change your life for the better. Samsung did the same with their SGS3 announcement but nowhere near as sickly as Apple.
- Complete lack of innovation
- COMPLETE LACK OF INNOVATION - said it twice there because i cant see anything there the 4S cant do without iOs 6.

Total disappointment once again from this announcement. Nothing new other than a screen thats been stretched too far in one direction. 'Thank god' as they said that i didnt wait for this phone and bought a SGS3.

I would say that there will be a boardroom in South Korea having a bit of party after seeing this lol Stupid Americans

It looks like the 4/4S stretched. Anyone gonna sue them for elongated design

etaab theres a Apple employee on this forum shes the one who started the Esato Chat thread in garbage
so I would be careful

Without Any Doubt... The "Last Apple IPhone Conceived And Projected By Steve Jobs" Is Very... Very... Very Good !!!

Although The New IPhone Having "Zero" Innovation In Terms Of Design, The Construction Of Apparatus Is "Excellent"... After All, Set The Anodized Aluminum And Ceramic Glass Is A Full Warranty Resistance Against Scratches And Falls, All That Allied To "Pampering" As The Addition Of a SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL On Optical Assembly And The Gorilla Glass Display Protection As The Show The North American Giant Think Of Longevity In Your Device !

With Relation To Software Despite Limitations Of All Have Known Of iOS He Remains Operating System With Best Fluency, Stability And Availability Of Applications !

Resources Multimedia Continue Excellent... Digital Camera 8MP With Flash Led (For Samples Of What I Saw Images, Does the Best 8 Megapixel Camera Market Next To Lumia 920 PureView "Lite"), Excellent Camcorder Now That Writes With Stereo Audio, Known to Have Audio Excellence His Player Musical, They Do This Smartphone Next To NOKIA 808 PUREVIEW The Best Option Market If the Focus For Digital Entertainment !

But To What End Of Fact Called Me Attention, Is "Almost Confirmation" (90%) What the New IPhone Uses A Dual Core CPU With Architecture ARM CORTEX - A15 !!!

From the Fact That If For Confirmed Will this Smartphone Faster And Stable World... Even Up For A "Lay" in Technology Know What This Type Chipset Architecture Unbeatable Offers A Yield CPU And GPU On Device... Even Against Smartphones QuadCore That Still Uses Architecture Oldest ARM-A9 (SIII And Note 2 By Example) This Just In Previously I Wrote And For What I Think The IPHONE 5 In Fact A GREAT INNOVATION !

P.S: Summarizing... Congratulations Apple And One Cheer Longing To Steve Jobs That Shut With Key Gold His Contribution to Mobile World !!!

Posted by Bonovox
your telling me that gorilla glass, aluminium is amazing?? Longevity, protection?? Gorilla glass might be scratch resistant to a point but it's certainly not shatter proof. And it's been used on so many phones, what's new about that?? Come on mate And innovation,I see nothing new AT ALL!! Same look, same boring icons again same ole same ole

What Changes That ? Nothing !!!

This is a phone for Apple fans. Any decent phone person who has had interaction with android or windows mobile would just see this as one of many smart phones. There is nothing about it that makes me jealous or that makes me say "hey, why didn't Samsung think of that?"

I am happily going with the galaxy note two.

I wont be purchasing, and never will be... But, I did expect more from the iPhone 5. What exactly? I dont know, just more.
And I love when Apple claims the worlds this, the worlds that....

Posted by Bonovox
I wonder what masseur would have thought of it OK,in the specs first page it has been put 1 gig ram but is it correct?? And also mistake by Guarulhos you put LED and TFT display. Which is it?? And is the battery bigger??

I was expecting a real technological marvel but its looking like a lot of people are very underwhelmed, but then again, what would we expect from a company that spends more on marketing than it does on R&D.

Getting so many people to pay so much for so little is bloody fantastic marketing! Genius in fact! Good on 'em!

Actually this year, Apple may have too much busy with the case with Samsung... so they didn't enough time to do much in/on new iPhone 5.

I had iPhone 4, which I used 1.5 year and sold recently. I have lots of paid app... so may be it will be wise decision to go for new iPod Touch rather than iPhone 5.

I read it took apple 2-3 years to develop
Those new earPod headphones very slow
Pace in theory there also claiming those
Headphones sound like leading expensive
Headphones from other manufacturers hmm

I so gotta put then to test lol
Found out there 25 a pair lol

Stitch the pics together at 8MP each pic ... yes it can add up to 28megapixel - but the math is wrong (28/8 is not even - so some compression or touch up? hmm).

The reason why no mention of RAM or clock speed ...
because IT ... DOESN'T ... REALLY ... MATTER (Platinum Blonde)!
Seriously ... after all the braggin of the specs of a device or PC, are you going to get laid with those specs? Is it going to raise your IQ or your pocket book/bank account? Make you more attractive to the opposite sex?! Is it going to land you that dream job?! No!

Specs are ONLY important to developers, hardware accessory manufacturers and to the END user when requirement/want to upgrade software cannot be done due to processing/algorhythm compatibility! The technology is NOT to be front and centre ... its USE case IS supposed to be.

Examples if I may:

Mustang vs Corvette (the original did not have a V8 until 3/4yrs after BUT in original mint condition will ALWAYS fetch more on the market because when you drive it ... it just causes a feeling an experience different from anything else today or back in its prime). Same with Ferrari vs Lamboghini vs an Audi R8!

PowerPC processors in PowerMac G5's with 4 generation old OS and iMovie STILL crunch through video format conversions (if supported; RED video format is not) than even a 2yr old Mac Pro with 8 core Xeons!! If you focused on specs you'd buy the Mac Pro from 2yrs ago vs a late 2005 PowerMac G5. What you do NOT know is the type of processing is incredibly different along with the compilers to make the programs work. Shorter data processing pipelines ... did you realize that Apple has more experience with RISC cpu's than just about any other company in the mobile space (save for Nokia/Sony+Ericsson) from A9 onwards??
ARM9/ARM15 Cortex are both RISC based cpu's .... your fancy Intel/AMD chips are CISC based ... utterly completely different worlds; the huge CRAY super computers also ran on RISC cpu's originally (same with Sun Sparc, Solaris OS, Unix, etc etc).

When I date a woman ... I care about how she looks, how she behaves (around ppl/or not), etc etc ... I don't really care about her heritage/background. Yes I learn about her heritage as I'm not ignorant but I don't pick and choose a woman based on culture or heritage (white/hispanic/black/romanian/jewish/bulgarian/italian/chinese/korean/etc etc etc). Its the woman the person I'm dating not the heritage or the culture ... those makeup WHO she is but its not the end all of be all of WHO she REALLY is.

If you get those analogies ... then you understand what Apple is after with their entire product portfolio! They never could win at specs ... not with their pricing model and how much they spend to make their products look/feel unique. Its about the experience ... that rush and well also that "clique" (the "in" crowd thing).
hope that helps.

I think you hit it on the nose! WHAT to expect?
LTE, larger screens, thinness, its all been done before this iPhone so what is there to change or bring?!!

1. Keep the camera MP and 5 element glass (something that is innovation, nobody has done this and quality pics) even slimming device. Let's increase the lens strenght while we're at it since we're making it level with the rest of the device laying flat on any surface (Sapphire lens).
2. LTE ... we have to play here - BUT lets allow battery life to be useful and have people hunt around for a charging port every 4.5hrs like they did when hunting for a WiFi connection in the days of War-driving. I call this an inno-vation of thought = consideration!
3. The ability to work with ANY let alone 20 carriers to create a better VOICE codec & infrastructure to be implemented; something I expected of Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens, Motorola, Qualcomm, as they ALL built the infrastructure for the past 20-30yrs (give or take a few). THEY should be ashamed that a relatively new entrant had the balls to do this!
4. Charge connector calling it Lightning all sounds very frightening ... Galileo, Galileo, Galileo, Galileo ... Magnificooooo.
yeah gotta admit that was FRAK'IN STUPID!! Lameoooo. I want to smack somebody in Apple for the 2 hours of horrible Queen singing I heard in IT yesterday afternoon (EST zone); yes I work in IT.
5. Oh wait ... using a standard security API set so that business and applications can adhere to Innovation or evolution of innovation done by the likes of RIM; they still have a long way to go with security like RIM does but so does every other OS. Android still doesn't have a unified security API set - each manufacturer has to create their own EVEN in JB.

I really think a lot of people's hatred for Apple's PC products, marketing to sustain their pricing has come full circle to their smartphone/tablet products.

Etaab,

NFC Daily with your girlfriend. Although very beneficial to you daily, how is it REALLY more efficient than sending a pic via MMS/Email/Bluetooth?!
- you engage with NFC but it hands off to BT/WLAN right?
- MMS/Email you don't have to engage if one of you are off in a rush to work or to meet friends it can still be sent; what if you have to wait for her to get home before you go out?
(to me in that situation NFC = ball+chain).

original iPhone negated contract pricing. Contract pricing is a model of the providers not the manufacturers ... and right now and for the foreseeable future, NO market can sustain carriers or their device retail prices beyond 1 year with no contract pricing. Collusion will begin with increased service pricing, we'll see more intentional drive-through raids (lol) in same nations/provinces if this where to occur.

Goldenface gets it. Since when has R&D paid back revenue each and every year?! Also Apple outsources most the hardware: cpu, lens, glass, manufacturing process, battery, etc etc why should they increase R&D costs?! Actually unless you're Samsung, LG, or Motorola you really should NOT increase R&D but actually lower it and outsource manufacturing. In a dog eat dog world Only these three make more than just smartphones and computers. They sell what else they make to the competition which also helps sustain revenues/profits and offset costs!

Are you black? Not being racist but felt you just freestyled. Specially "Galileo, Galileo, Galileo, Galileo ... Magnificooooo.
yeah gotta admit that was FRAK'IN STUPID!! Lameoooo"

Anyway! Understand the reason why are we having a debate if iPhone 5 is really good or let's say past Apple products.

When iPhone was first launched Android devices use to suck balls. iPhone was truly a magnificent device. Why? Because it showed us the future of smartphone. There was no innovation truly speaking. At least from my side. At that point I was using Windows Mobile and it did everything what iPhone could do but the interface which is software, was brilliant. If you call that innovation then alright I'll give you on that.

My point is, now the Android is far more ahead than iOS. Even the Android devices are ahead. People are using NFC. I haven't used Bluetooth for years now. Cloud computing. That's the best. I use Dropbox to share files so I don't have to wait and waste even my 5 seconds. That person can download anytime he wants it. Look at Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, Moto you think they really feel the need to compete with iPhone anymore? They having been making huge screen which iPhone lacked. They have been using their own technology respectively in order to give a better experience to the consumers. Like LG & Sony using sensor on lens technology. But all this is alright.

If you want to pick up these things which really don't matter much then great, iPhone 5 is the best smartphone and the most innovative product, but think about it mate? When I said this last line even you know it's not true, why? You know the answer.

Now I'll tell you, why I hate Apple and I do but I use to love Apple until Android got at its best.

Do watch this, trust me you will change your mind

Yes I'm black ... and trust me I did NOT freestyle the "galileo" I actually just re-iterated from a Macrumors thread where other Apple fans felt was assinine.

To me Android IS difficult to use and I did try 3 of them. Of them all using Gingerbread; or Galaxy Nexus on ICS/JB ... no simple task was the same in GB:
switching apps in GB varied across devices,
choosing settings for ActiveSync, again in different locations
Setting up email again varied across devices = same thing in ICS and JB; WHY!?
Application disconnects: Why can't I use the official Cisco AnyConnect on say an Xperia Arc when I can on GNexus? Why is there very few apps that are clear winners at what they do with the rest following suite to bring themselves up to par? (AD applications, File Browser apps - so many ridiculous features listed its puzzling and the voting/comments in Play Store is all over the damn map).

ICS:
Why so many messed up resolutions to cause variances of end user experiences?
(800x640, 960x864, 720P; sorry if I got the resolutions wrong but you get what I mean I hope. This affects how some applications look - I need light prescription glasses to see clearly, not properly but clearly to read close/far). I'm no longer a yute like when I joined these boards.

Android:
Why is Maps, Latitude, and all those other Google mapping services so separate? Really why not just unify them and simplify the controls?
Chrome ... again why did this not show up with GB - shame on Google not to bring this as the default browser for all manufacturers - that itself was another annoying experience without Chrome.
Why did it take Google (the kings of internet search and blogging) to figure out a proper application comment/voting system that is easy to decipher until ICS?!
If I wanted the unification that ICS/JB brought I have to waste so much time Google searching finding just the right Cymogen mod hack for my particular SGS II/Xperia Arc/Galaxy Nexus (even variances on HSPA based models) in order for me to experience the improvements or wait months for the official Google+Provider sanctioned update. But wait ... if I purchased it unlocked from Europe, I have to be careful I find one that is available for where I live in Canada. But what if that model is not sold here?! Arrgh!!

The first video begins a bit pathetic, trying to APPEASE an iOS user using words/phrases "It just works" (a classic overplayed Apple cliche with their PCs), "I own several apple products", and I highly doubt his first smartphone was an Android device - if anyone on these boards is over 24 and has not lived in a shed more than likely they've used RIM, S60/UIQ or WMobile.

WMobile was very configurable in its day ... the original iPhone innovation was multi-touch display with incredible accuracy ... NOTHING was close and you know it. The presentation was the real killer - the audacity to show it off, and have people WAIT 6 damn months before they can purchase it lol priceless.

You haven't used Bluetooth for wireless transmission, wireless headsets/speakers, or synching at ALL?! When you sync your Android using NFC are you still touching the two NFC contacts less than 5cm away or do you walk away while the file is being transfered? I mean ACTUALLY still touching to complete the transfer or just initiate the transfer and disconnect the physical touch - that my friend is engaging Bluetooth or WiFi (BT/WLAN) to complete the actual transfer - if not you'd be almost holding hands using NFC exclusively as its data transfer speed is slow for large files like a 600kb picture.
NFC: (424 kbit/s max data transfer, 20cm max distance most implementations are less than half that distance).

For me I no longer have time to fiddle, configure, tweak or experiment with my smartphone - yes I've dumbed down my experience. I work in IT roughly 10-12hrs a day with a small team of 6 other gentleman supporting 300+users in the office Mon-Fri (sometimes on weekends or after hours for support; its rotated amongst us weekly), along with over 3000 users and other IT reps globally! We have access at corporate that others do not. AD, Exchange/Outlook, 2008R2 Server, FTP, VPN, WLAN, AirWatch MDM solution ... Soon SharePoint and K2 Workflow. My time I used to enjoy teaking and fiddling just to do simplistic tasks I've listed above is used with my friends or my son - more than ever now that I'm single and he's just becoming a man at 14. Should my iPhone break or get stolen I'm more inclined to get another one, activate it my settings are all there in a matter of minutes, my applications and the settings within them (no more re-configuring VPN, ADMobile app which uses my admin credentials with complex password I hate to type: 24characters long and non language or leet implementation. Google promises this but in practice if I choose another device or the same does NOT work as advertised. You have to retype in your ActiveSync settings - heaven forbid you choose a new device because settings are similar NOT the same; again the non-unified Google API for security is at fault here.

I WANT to own the Xperia TX or V.
I love the design, I love Sony's ecosystem for media ... BUT its Android at the core that is driving me insane! There comes a time where you want to enjoy a those few moments in life, not trying to plan it out each & every step - gotta pick those goals not each battle. There comes a time when you realize technology is just a frame for the window you're after and to see through it all to use what you see, not meddle so much with the frame (its size, colour, dimensions, window pane colour etc etc); just give me a clear window.

the MAJOR key thing to realize just why Apple keeps selling so many iPhones more each iteration besides the lack of greatest specs is the global market. recall back in S60/UIQ/WMobile heyday?! Recall that for a moment long and hard. How many smartphone users existed?! Seriously? When you realize that demographic and just how easily users are switching regardless of platform is not just the technology or the GUI but the EASE of use (ICS/JB included to a point vs GB I'll admit that)!! users in their 40s are loving smartphones yet just 5-7yrs ago they hated it and preferred the flip-phones.

Bring me Google Glasses with a slightly less intrusive/obvious camera and NOW we'll talk!! I'll be all up in that like a hobo on rice!

PS: Brothas don't really like Queen or that style of Rock'n'roll not where I'm from. Hated & still do hate the Rocky Horror Picture show whatever its called.

It's a personal thing I guess. You like Apple, I find Android better

Anybody knows where I can find iPhone 5 Whitepaper? I want to compare it with Xperia V, Head to Head!

Agreed. I really hope iOS 6 or IP5 is a failure, honest I do ... I feel Apple engineers and developers are getting waay too complacent even though build quality is incredible. This way Android, WP8 and even BB10 will push them to advance.

I haven't used BT for years either I don't use the headsets anyway. NFC is a great feature. I wonder is Apple has increased the battery size?? I am looking forward to Windows Phone 8,iPhone is just over rated. Have been there worn the t shirt and never again.
