Just a heads up to you fellow X2 users. I have confirmed with a SE Support manager that MR2 will be released next week.

I was also assured that the MR2 version will offer me a different and much more improved user experience.

Confirmed for the Nordic and Baltic regions. So stay tuned! Please check with your local support centres and post in this thread if you have any more info.

After the update, feel free to report on your feedback on how it performs as well.

The memory card problems (of it dissapearing, etc) have been fixed over at XDA Developers, i'll post the link if I can find it again. But I agree I can't see MR2 coming out until the very end of May if not early June.

Well ... honest answer to the question is NO. At least for me - I already own X2, but there are 3 issues which I can't swallow:

1) It does NOT have support for Bluetooth rSAP (remote SIM access) profile and therefore can't pair with my car (and with ANY modern car) build in audio hands free system. I travel a lot - therefore this issue render X2 as useless no matter what else features X2 may offer;

2) Screen become immediatelly scratchy - used 2 months only and touched only with stylus and/or finger nails;

3) Slider becomed loosed already - so much for touted "build quality" of SE...

Of course - X2 poses many good things and options, lagy and buggy software will be patched eventually within next firmware releases, but still out of a.m. 3 reasons - "NO it does not worth buying" is my honest answer to you question. I REALLY regret to say this as I've been loyal SE fan & customer many years ...

@ TimeKiller

The scratch thing is very easy to avoid... I bought display shields very cheap on eBay and have been using them from day 1.

If you do ever scratch it, then use displex.

When will update MR2?????????????????????

Posted by titus1

My only gripe was that, SE should have at least upped the processor of the X2 to 700-800Mhz.

Was the Radio and Videocall been enabled on MR1?

@prodjsxb - I agree about protectors, lets say it was my fault (despite my wifes Nokia 5800 is also with plastic resistive screen and don't have this problem been used already almost 2 years. Not to mention that my daughter's Aino don't have any scratches despite been treated REALLY rough, same goes for iPhone, k800i I owned earlier however all of them are with glass covered screen - not plastic. But still Nokia 5800 is with platic and have not yet experienced scratches). Anyhow - lets say it's my fault. But what about slider become loosed ?!? No - it wasn't "forced" or treated bad in any way. But all a.m. mentioned is NOTHING compared that X2 can't pair with the car - this is my biggest issue which render X2 as useless for me...

I don't use bluetooth at all for headpiece, so I'm happy it doesn't affect me...
My X2 is waiting for the second upgrade in the drawer. I quit using it after all those problems, just had no patience anymore, and no time to constantly struggle instead of just using it. I buy devices to work, not just play around.
So still using X1 which appears to be a great phone again.
IF the upgrade/software would be stable, it would be really worth buying IMO, a great machine.
Great camera, construction, WM 6.5. I think the hardware is ok for this machine. Great design, great display.
It's also the most ergonomic device I've ever had in my hands.

Update to MR2 and testing, so far it seems very smooth and stable. Will report later if I discover any problems.

Lol looks like the UI has changed.

I just noticed Bubble Breaker is missing in MR2 Noooooooooo! I love playing that game!

Guys who test the new MR2:

Please check how about the memory card problem!
Some XDA users confirm this problem is STILL present on the
latest upgrade!

Yes, that was me on XDA that mentioned it.

The card powers down on standby mode thus causing a sluggish delay thing when waking up. I applied the SD Card patch that was used on MR1 and it works great!

So far battery life is also very good.

Nice, but this is scary than.
They were not able to fix this issue?

If that's the case and X2 after the newest upgrade stil performs
memory card problem
the device goes back to SE.

can anyone with MR2 confirm if the notification error has finally been fixed?

Yep!

@prodjsxb - Can you please check and advise if they have added support for Bluetooth rSAP profile (remote SIM access profile) ? My X2 is with GENERIC_EN which is not yet available...

@doministry - you are lucky man, unfortunatelly I travel a lot with the car (as I am sales agent) therefore ability to pair the phone with the car is REALLY important to me. I also like the X2, but is useless for me if it can't pair with the car etc...

These are the profiles available on my device.

A2DP, HSP, HFP 1.5, PAN, OPP, AVRCP, PBAP, SPP, SEWP, GAP, GAVDP, GOEP

I take it that PBAP wont work for you?

Posted by TimeKiller
@prodjsxb - Thanks man. Unfortunatelly all 12 are the same profiles from MR1. While PBAP is also necessary - it worth nothing for me without SAP (or RSAP) which is by the way included in all HTC phones already 2 years and almost all NOKIA phones already 3 years. So I can't pair it with my car, neither it can be pair it with any modern car build in audio - therefore X2 is still useless for me

Posted by prodjsxb
I think once the SPL is released, the smart cookers will have that solved.

SE, if they are smart will leak it. It will only end up increasing the sales of the X2 once people know they can do this. Look at what that has done for HTC. The money men should put pressure on the development team to do this.
[ This Message was edited by: prodjsxb on 2010-05-16 16:24 ]

Posted by TimeKiller
Yeah, may be so - but I doubt it will increase X2 sales. Several hundred tech savy users like you and me will bother to find the cab (if someone create it) and install it - but mainstream users will almost never bother to install anything to their phone and just use it as it is. What do you mean with "SE, if they are smart..." ? If they are smart they would have include rSAP profile natively from the very beginning. All modern premium quality cars are using this technology and with a good reason - it brings great user experience and safety. How many people you know which don't need or want to pair their phone with their car ? Ok, it was my fault that I bought the phone before I check is it have rSAP or not (I didn't check it because I didn't think that it is possible they miss it as I know for sure it is available in every HTC or NOKIA). But now I am so frustrated that they can be sure that I will never buy SE again and of course will not advise anyone to do it. I can only guess I am not alone - so are they are smart ?

Posted by prodjsxb
That's why I said "if" they are smart...

Yeah if you head over to XDA there is a post that tells you which registry edit you need to change to re-enable it for auto rotate.

Posted by prodjsxb
Or... you could just go here -> http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=196076
Which is always a couple of threads away from this one.

its just that i like both the x10 and x2 and im more of a typist and multimedia person. both phones suites me well except for the non hardware keyboard on x10. ive never used a tocuh screen keyboard except for my p1's on screen keyboard.

idk i might get the x10 since winmo wont support x2 any more or so it seem
