hi guys let me notice you i have found the a way to modify some aspects in our satios camera drivers
for now i have improved the video and image quality tomorrow morning will post some shots to show you the new quality, thanks
PS i would like to get 30 fps on WVGA but for now i didnt get success, frames dropped to 15-14 :S so i leave it at 23

The only camera files are 10282EDC and 10208696. The file z:\private\101F857A\SettingRules.ini describes the camera well, too bad I can't find secamera.hrh.

im wayting for some daylight shots. Its "noise but sharp image" vs. "washed (painted) image with low noise". K750 and W800 used the sharp but with noise method... since K800 all hell has been unleashed.. nokia like images. I can show you some pictures where grass is a green carpet, no detail at all..
So waiting to see tomorrow. Maybe some "Before" and "After" pictures

Great work, images look noticeably better with much less noise, however detail of files remains the same with before and after shot, i.e. files sizes are still at around max 3.1mb.. any way to change the jpeg compression?

Thats good news, because JPEG compression would be one of the main let downs of the satio, i owned an early prototype and the photos were around a maximum of 6mb! and i couldnt believe it when i bought the retail version just how strong compression was... is there a config file for 9mp?

BIG mistake sory sorry the correct path is

Just tested again on both a satio with original untouched firmware and this mod with same apps and files installed, things Ive noticed:
-Colour reproduction is much more accurate in both camera and video with the new mod
-camera images are roughly the same file size, if anything around 50kb higher with new mod
-video frame rate for WVA stands at a solid 23.65, and for VGA 29.59 for the new mod (.20fps higher for both VGA and WVGA compared to the unmodded firmware)
-edges of objects eg flower, leaf, book etc seem slightly more saturated in the modded files (have lost a tad of sharpness)
-noise in night shots drastically improved in the modded files
-JPEG compression however still quite strong

Hmm, I think that the quality of the pictures has been increased(better color reproduction), but on the other hand the quality og the wvga video recording has been decreased.... Can you mod it in a way, so the videos are more colourfull?

wow this cam driver so far is amazing my compression rate went from 2mb to 3mb and I can surely say that the sharpness has increased a lot. keep up the work up and see if you can the compression up to about 5-6mb. also the pictures in sunlight is very good with this cam driver.
btw does c2z patch have to stay on the whole time?

as i said i tried to improved the video an image quality, so changed the bitrate from 3000 to 5000 (VGA) and 5000 to 8000 (WVGA) (now im trying to lift the audio bitrate too), for image is i did the same, also change some values for colors and sharpness, i didnt touch the compression since i couldnt find it, but i got and idea and try it today

great job "Eltoffer" At least it's a start, I just post pictures ............. I think has improved the clarity, colors are more 'hot, and the pictures have gone from a 3 mega 2mega about o_0

Just tested your driver, picture quality is better, about 0.5 mb more in file size.
I don't think there is a value that you can change for compression quality as the configuration file is similar to that of a UIQ smartphone which never had that setting in the camera driver.
Also, you do not need the c2z rompatcher+ patch to use this!

It's not much different from the p1 driver no, all there is is compression and file size settings for photos theres no colour or sharpness settings so you can't really improve photo quality that much , i think 500kb is the biggest file increase you can get i did set the max file size at around 9mb , i was only able to an extra 500kb on my p1's driver aswell it must be a firmware limit.
