Trying to help somebody who is stuck needing internet access and the laptop they have is Windows 98SE. They are out of the country so changing to XP is next on their list when they get home.

What they want to do is buy a 3G phone and use either cable or bluetooth and use it as a modem for their Windows 98 laptop.

At first I would have thought it was possible, but after searching, it seems all Sony Ericsson Suite software for 3G phones works with 2000 or XP but no mention of 98. Also, do they need to install the full suite or just the modem driver? Maybe there is a modem driver file which will work?

Can anybody help out please?
Thanks

if possible use bluetooth so you don't need to install a se software driver.

just use the bluetooth modem driver.

How about really helping them by mailing a new copy of XP to them, and letting them repay you when they get back?
