I'm just so annoyed that the UK has to be the last to get specials like the 80GB version
:. Also, even though I may buy one, its ridiculous how the U.S. (now) only have to pay ~ £250 for the 60gb version and we have to pay ~ £400!!!

i say just get one now and stop moanin bout how much it costs lol. like most uk ppl i am used to being shafted on prices (thank mr blair and mr brown for that!) so jus save up an get one coz if it does go down in price i reckon it will only be about £50-£75 as most places r selling the console for £400 which is £25 less than rrp.
tis really worth it though! give me a couple more months and it'll b even more amazin!

I see what you mean man! I should just get it lol. Just unsure whether to wait for the 80GB version. However, I doubt I'll even be able to fill 60GB! Hopefully they'll announce a rumble controller at E3 - and if so, I'll most probably buy that 'version'.
At the moment my friend borrowed me his Wii and I must say, even though I'm a Sony man myself, I am really enjoying it. It's a totally different experience! There's something about it that makes the PS3 seem boring

Just got some news about a european ps3 upgrade...Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president David Reeves has hinted that a 120 GB ps3 could soon be coming to Europe.You can read more about it HERE

kwiksta,the leipzig gaming conf. will be held in just about months time from aug 24-27 where there's a great chance of the 120gb version to be announced.So maybe its better if you wait it out till then.
As for the new controller that'll come probably in Sept. during the tokyo games show...

It's not necessary to have a hdtv.The ps3 is supplied with the standard AV cable which you can connect to your sdtv and run it.

i'm getting one. brought a wii last week though so need a few weeks to save the pennys. hopefully end of august in time for the new GTA.
the wii is cool but it more of a party time console, something you play with mates. PS3 for the more serious gaming.
i did consider the xbox 360 but been out a while now, and i've been a playstation'er since the PS1 so i don't think i'd get on with and xbox that well.

Got a bargain from Ebay, brand new sealed ps3 with the game 'fall of man' for £270 and i went to collect it (nice chap).
Still prefer the 360 for online fun

From what I know, the Blu-Ray movies are region-locked but the games aren't unless the manufacturer's decide to do so - and I don't think many have

Movies are region coded, games are not.
However you should remember that if you buy a US game for example when you play online it will go to the US servers and not the Euro ones
