Found this program today when I finally got my bluetooth dongle to work on win x64. It's a real nice program works really great, I had no problems installing it on my x64 and the bluetooth was a pice of cake.
Much better than SE's pc suite, thou the new 1.10.71 is much better then the old one but still only works win32.
There is only one thing I miss, update with Outlook. (The whole point of installing my blutooth dongle was to be able to update my outlook calender : ).)
I saw that it is possible to import .vcs to the calender in MPE but I cannot for my life find a way to export that from outlook. I can only find the .csv format.
Well anyway. GREAT program, keep up the good work.

Yep, a really great program. Works like a charm with default Bluetooth drivers of XP SP2.

I'd love to use this. It's a shame it absolutely refuses to work on my PC.

Hi,
Info: K750i, F/W: R1L002, MPE 1.2.13, USB and/or Bluetooth,
I have problem to run a "Create Backup"
all option marked (Inl. files, Phonememory only)
After couple of minutes (6Mb of 8Mb of files) this message popups
"SetPath failed: \path to where I pointed out the backup folder\
OBEX Errorcode: 00 Phone didn't answer"
In my backup path, no files is copied. All subfolders are empty but they are created.
Tried SetupCOM, make no differance

Sorry, my bad. I wrote that in a rush. Here's the error:
Obex Protocol could not be initialized!!
OBEX Errorcode: 00 - Phone didn't answer
Any ideas? I have the runtime files installed, as well as both the regular program and the update. It's on WinXP.

Do you have SP2? If yes then you also must have assigned a com port to your phone. In MPE select that comport.
If you have already done all of the above try this.
I faced a similar problem with my k700i. Turn off your phone. Take out the battery and sim and then restart.
If that doesnt work then do a master reset of only settings on your phone.(Do this at your own risk as one of the members ended up busting his memory card!!) Now try to connect.
If all of the above doesnt work,I suggest you inform the software writer zillertaler.

I have SP2, but I have no idea how to assign a COM port to my phone - how do I do that? I wasn't aware that I needed to do that.

I have tried selecting different ports in the actual software, but nothing has worked so far.
Posted by indiannawaf
So you have not assigned a comport. Do this:
1) Insert your dongle in the usb port.
2) Go to Control Panel then Bluetooth devices.
3) If you have paired your phone then your phone will be shown. Like this in my case its a k700.
4) Select the tab COM Ports.
5) Turn on bluetooth on your phone.
6) Click add and then select Outgoing(Computer initiates connection).
7) Click browse that will search for device that wants to use com port.

9) Click OK.
10) It will assign a comport to your phone.
When using MPE select that comport and enjoy.
If any probs inform me.
Posted by indiannawaf
If step 7 doesnt work:
Instead of going to tab COM ports, select your device and click properties. Click Services. Check the Serial port check box and click apply. It will assign a COM port. When doing this your system will show found new hardware ballon saying serial port over bluetooth.
Cheers

That's great, thanks a lot for your help!

Do you have a bluetooth dongle or a cable?
Serial Cable: Check the label on the port you plugged the cable in. It should be marked Com 1 or Com 2, usually PCs dont have more then 2 COM ports, so chances are its either 1 or 2
USB Cable: Check in the device manager (Windows) which COM port is used for the serial port emulation. (Look under "ports")
Infrared: There is own applet in Control Panel for infrared. COM port used by IR is reported there. It is very often COM 2
BlueTooth: For this the above(above posts) steps work.

Very good program!! Thank you sir!!!
Posted by Targett
Yippie...
I got it working... I deleted the connection I already had in the BT menu on phone and PC, then re-connected the two using the PC connection wizard, and now it works

I found it worked only when I chose the passcode rather than an automatic one, dunno why!

Thats good!! Enjoy the excellent program!!

thanks for the program, I found it useful, one thing though which I would like to clarify and sorry if this has been mentioned before. Tried to transfer a SMS message from one SIM to another using the program, just wanted all the original settings of the message would remain the same (that is why did not send it via the GSM network). The message that I wanted to be transferred was a “long message” meaning that it consists of two parts/messages put in one in the phone upon receipt. So when using this program I got the message saved in the archive (PC) and later copied to the second SIM I could only see the second part (ending) of the initial message. Tried several times and in various ways, no success, then tried to play with *.sms file but since I have not a single idea about those codings/encodings could not get what I wanted. Is it normal that the program can not transfer the “long message” or I overlooked something? thanks in advance
Posted by indiannawaf
Maybe the sms got saved in two parts as it was very long. Look for the first part.
Posted by zillertaler
I know about this bug. All parts of the message are stored correctly on the phone, but there are problems to show the message correctly on the phone-display. This error i found only on K750 and W800. Currently i have no idea to fix this bug of the phonesoftware.
Posted by rockygali
its prolly the K50 and W800 FW is messin the entire program. but MyPhoneExplorer is think is by far... a great mobile suite for PC. compared to others...
cheers! good job!

Hi guys!!
New users of this fabulous software, I just wanted to know if the speed of the menu animation, for exemple, is very slow for you, other users. For me it takes about 5 seconds to animate when I click on message, for exemple????
Oh, and I forgot something: how may I check then Visual basic is fully and correctly install on my computer??
Thanks in advance...

I know about this, but i never seen it. Only 2 users told me about this "bug". Deactivate the sidebar in "View-Menu" and browse throught the menu.
Posted by juju66
Thanks a lot for the answer and the trick!! It's a little bit better but the software himself is slow, that's weird!!
Is it possible to run it without visual basic installed?? Because I don't really know if the installation of vb was done correctly...
Once again, I want to tell this is a great software and very useful!!
In fact, in addition to this I have a "big" problem:
- In the memory status of my phone it is told that I have 102 files under messages menu.
- When I try to synch the sms from my phone to my computer the software tell the number of sms downloaded / number of total sms, and it is written xxx/159 and the synch always stop at 153!!! After a try windows tell me that the software doesn't answer anymore and I have to kill it!!...
- And when I got some (I don't know the exact number) more sms, the phone tell me I'm full about the memory?!?!?!?!
Do you have already seen this sort of problem??

hey, i've suddenly encountered a problem.
I keep getting an error that says:
---------------------------
Error...
---------------------------
COM8 couldn't be opened
Port cannot be found
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
followed by:
---------------------------
Error...
---------------------------
Couldn't open COM8 !!
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
I haven't changed any settings since the last time I used it, so I don't know what the problem is. I reinstalled it as aswell, but that didn't fix it.
Any ideas?
edit: nevermind, managed to fix it. wrong port.

If you have bluetooth dongle verify which comport you have connected in your software. If you have cable check the comport and make necessary changes in the settings of MPE.

I have a question...
When browsing phone files using MPE, is there a way for it to have a status bar (where it tells you how many files are currently present in the folder that you are viewing)?
Posted by indiannawaf
I dont think so.

Posted by zillertaler
@sonusingh27: Use the connectionwizzard. File>Options>Search device
@dcargnel: To realising your wish is a hard job. I don't know if and when this feature will be integrated.
Posted by indiannawaf
@zillertaler Wow. Great update. Thanks. Really like the preview feature.

zillertaler: As soon as I'm not a poor student, I'm going to donate some money as this program is fantastic, because the official SE efforts don't work on xp64.
Is there a recommended way to use MPE in a situation where more that one person has a SE phone? Install the program twice maybe? Or will it work seperatley for different logins?
Posted by zillertaler
Its no problem to adminiser more than one phone with MyPhoneExplorer. Just try - it works automatical.

I have a laptop with an integrated IR device, so I don`t connect my IR device throught a serial port, because it is on my mainboard. So, how can I connect my phone to the application, because it is not working.

True. It's simply great.

@zillertaler
Is it possible in the next release to copy the date time stamp of sent text messages the same way as received messages are done. I tend to archive my text messages in subfolders on the pc, and received messages displays in chronological order, however, sent messages does not as it only shows the date/time stamp of the time I copied it over to the archive.
Hope it makes sense what I'm trying to say.
Apart from that its a great application!
