not a communicator, just a smartphone.Pros
excellent displays internal & external, 5 d-pad instead of a joystick, eye candy/status symbol.
Cons
series60 operating system/interface instead of series80, there should be a camera free version as well.
Conclusion
nokia's latest so called communicator is a total let down.
if the head honchos at nokia have gone ga-ga over the series60 operating system it does not mean they have to make consumers bear the weight of their preferences.
nokia's communicators have always been incorporating the series80 operating system so why did the e90 have to be downgraded to series60?
the e90 is nothing but a n70 in portrait mode when closed & a n70 in landscape mode when opened.
sony ericsson has made a bold progressive step with a upcoming windows mobile smartphone but it seems nokia has chosen to go into reverse gear full throttle.
the nokia 7710 was an experimental phone but i'd surely take it over the e90.
nokia should have ideally made a series80 communicator with a 9xxx model # & carried on the legacy of the super successful 9300/9500 etc.
as interesting as nokia's N series is, nokia's E series is comparatively pathetic.
yes the only good part is that the whopping cost of the phone allows it to speak for you when you are holding the phone in your hand. in other words the e90 is a status symbol for the average person as it is exhorbitantly expensive.
bottomline, i have got rid of my e90 in a week.
