i remember before it was built . loads of people objected to it. i remember a cartoon in the echo "welcome to Gateshead (picture of the angel in the background) no laughing!"

@leerichards, yes, and it was especially well timed, as Shearer had just been caught on camera kicking another player. Very funny that he should then be called an angel.
