Softhouse a Swedish mobile multimedia software house today announced a new mobile application Painter,enabling mobile phone users to get their own portrait in the style of Botticelli,Picasso,Rembrandt or other great painters.

Softhouse Crossmedia Avenue the award winning Swedish mobile multimedia software house - today announced a new mobile application Painter,letting mobile phone users get their own portrait in the style of one of the great masters.Based on leading-edge image-processing technology the application converts a portrait-photo taken with a camera phone into a morph sequence showing the transformation from an ordinary snap to a painting in the style of Botticelli, Picasso, Rembrandt or other great painters.

Painter is a part of a new line of mobile entertainment applications from Softhouse which is introduced at 3GSM in Barcelona.The product line comprises six new applications letting end-users create fun and entertaining images of portrait photos taken with their camera-phone.

"When the Picasso painting 'Garcon a la Pipe' was sold at Sotheby's in New York in May 2004 it costed $104.1 M. With an ordinary mobile phone in your hand you can now get a Picasso portrait for a couple of Euros," said Tord Olsson, CEO Softhouse Crossmedia Avenue AB. "User-generated content like this is also important for many new interactive TV concepts and we are already discussing the launch of these services at TV-shows in several European countries."
