Softhouse Crossmedia Avenue the award winning Swedish mobile multimedia software house - today announced a new mobile application Painter,letting mobile phone users get their own portrait in the style of one of the great masters.Based on leading-edge image-processing technology the application converts a portrait-photo taken with a camera phone into a morph sequence showing the transformation from an ordinary snap to a painting in the style of Botticelli, Picasso, Rembrandt or other great painters.

Painter is a part of a new line of mobile entertainment applications from Softhouse which is introduced at 3GSM in Barcelona.The product line comprises six new applications letting end-users create fun and entertaining images of portrait photos taken with their camera-phone.

"When the Picasso painting 'Garcon a la Pipe' was sold at Sotheby's in New York in May 2004 it costed $104.1 M. With an ordinary mobile phone in your hand you can now get a Picasso portrait for a couple of Euros," said Tord Olsson, CEO Softhouse Crossmedia Avenue AB.
