Tiny Switchblade Phone

13 December 2006 by axxxr
Here is a Phone design thats very different from the rest, its very small and has no flash features to boast about.

There's no email, no Web browsing, no garage door opener nothing but the necessary voice in and-out functions and four simple keys, each of which lets you enter three numbers.Rock the key to the left and you've entered one number, push it downward, there's another and rock that key to the right, and you've entered another,it has a spring-loaded see through display for caller ID info, and the interesting thing its only 3.14-inches in size so i have to admit i really like this. source:gizmodo  productdesignforums

It is only a concept. Created in October this year by an amateur designer who was fed up with the functions on his phone.
Quite a lot of the features are not fully developed and as far as I'm aware no backer has yet been found.
Please see www.productdesignforums.com/index.php?showtopic=4453

Dude this phone is for people who wnt just a simple and small phone. People who doesnt know how to send and sms. People who would rather carry a phonebook (a real) than trouble themselves using the mobile's.

What kind of features do you need? Sheesh!

My thoughts.. I suppose it's meant to be marketed toward intelligent, non-pretentious types who happen not to use SMS and can remember their friends' phone numbers....
Hmm...
For people who have very many contacts, this phone wouldn't be for them, since it's a pain to memorize (let's say...) seventy plus phone numbers.
Not everybody needs all those other things, though.
But, when I look at it, the smallness makes you think someone would need it who travelled a lot, which would probably be the type to have very many contacts, and so need some text program so that they could at least know who was calling (since I assume the fast-paced traveller who needs a travel-friendly tiny phone would be a sort of buisness person model who has more contacts than takes breaths in a day).

Wow. People. Can't you type? Give me a break.

interface looks terribly difficult to use! the user will get carpen tunnel syndrome after first 50 phone calls....small is not always good :(

Maybe it could be called a prototype phone then.

well it should not be called a phone, basically its a prototype. No features...Nothing...
But good idea and design.
well in future maybe i'll think it to buy with fully packed features.

SMS? you don't. and caller ID? you see the number. that's caller ID. this phone has one advantage: it's tiny.
