GODZILLA on Mobile

28 May 2005 by axxxr
Indiagames partners with Toho Co Ltd. to capture the monster’s mayhem on mobile phones globally excluding Japan.

Indiagames, the leading Mobile entertainment developer, has entered into an agreement with Toho Co., Ltd. to bring wireless content based on "Godzilla," now celebrating over 50 years of life since 1954. Godzilla is the brightest dream and at the same time is the most horrific nightmare of the Japanese cinema. The wireless content, which will be available beginning November 2005, includes two mobile games, wallpapers, screensavers, ring tones, voice ringers, and alerts. The wireless games (both casual and fighting) will include various Toho monster characters (such as Mothra, King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Gigan, etc.).

Godzilla has had a long history and many monster allies and foes. Indiagames will build upon the rich history of the franchise: Godzilla began life millions of years ago when dinosaurs were roaming over the Earth. Exposed to radiation in mid 1950s, Godzilla transformed into a towering monster capable of delivering a devastating atomic blast with its breath. Since then, Godzilla has menaced various cities of the world and fought off many unbeatable adversaries, earning it the title, King of the Monsters. Godzilla was created by man, but it became a God of destruction which cannot be defeated by man. Godzilla's history is still not complete, and with the imagination of all of its fans, Godzilla will never die, because Godzilla lives forever!

Vishal Gondal, the CEO of Indiagames says: "The Godzilla property has been very popular throughout the world for over 50 years and has been successfully translated into Movies, T.V., games, toys, video games and other merchandise. Indiagames is pleased to be associated with this mega property for mobile phones and thinks it is one of the best properties that Indiagames can leverage across its global distribution network."

"We're excited to see this deal bring all the fun of Godzilla to mobile phones around the world outside of Japan," adds Shozo Watanabe, General Manager of Toho’s Los Angeles office.
