Hello All,
I've just recieved a response to my email that people might find interesting on this thread.
I asked o2 if instead of upgrading my phone to a newer model if I could buy a new contract (which of course has the better deals) and port my number over to the new o2 account and close the old one down.
o2's reply
If you wish to start a new contract, then also you can retain your
current mobile number. In order to do this, you can either inform the
Sales Team regarding the same when you will call to purchase a new phone.
Alternatively, you can send your confirmation regarding retaining your
mobile number after you start a new contract and we will help you
further.
Has anyone tried this?

Why not just ask if you can change to the better tariff without starting a new contract. There's no need to start a new 12 month commitment and hinder your chances of upgrading within 12 months if you're not getting a new phone out of it. |

You can get a better deal upgrading, with a but of persuasion, than what they offer new folk. |

That's the thread I was reading.
All I was thinking of was when the w800i actually comes out it's (supposedly) will be the same price of an S700i when it came out.
I'm just trying to work out how I might be able to get it cheaper.
