I've been reading about the K750i on the net for a few days now and I didn't realise they were so new to market in Australia. No retailer in the city in Canberra has any idea about these handsets, a few hand't even heard of it!
www.techoni.com.au do have the K750i for sale for $653.
You can pick them up for under AU$600 if you're happy to by thru eBay and a Hong Kong retailer ... not sure if that is a good thing to do or not??? |

Oh I've just started a thread in the General Forum, if any Aussies would like to offer their advice I'd be most greatful.

Hey all you phonies...
sorry couldn't resist that one.
I'm thinking of getting the k750i as well. I've contacted a few internet dealers - they have them in stock.
However, they are selling the "import" version. I'm guessing the charger doesn't work with the local power points. Has anyone had experience with import phones?
thanks |

in my experience, people selling imports locally tend to often provide adaptors for the charger but if not they are just a few bucks
the only concern about buying such phones really is warranty

With the Techoni price of $653 I'm guessing that theirs is a local version given that they state you'd be pre-ordering???

I just got some feedback from MFone, they are selling imported K750is sourced from Europe. By late July they expect to have Australian stock. They said they would supply the European phones with an adapter for the charger and would send an Australian charger once available.

I have confirmed with Techoni that they are selling an Aus spec phone with relevant charger and Australian warranty. Therefore placed an order with them which came to a total of around $665 including shipping from Sydney to Canberra. Expected delivery is early July, but I won't get too alarmed if it takes a bit longer.

I know what you mean, I was originally looking at only spending around $350, but after a couple of weekends working I cut a deal with my boss to buy a phone in lieu of overtime. Mind back in 1995 I paid around $800 for a Nokia 2110 ... and it didn't even have a camera!
Oh FWIW, I got this in an email from Techoni last Friday, so I'm guessing I should have my phone soon...
"We have recently received stock of the Sony Ericsson K750i.
We sell only Australian version mobile phones. Thus you receive a 12 month manufacturer warranty." |
