Hey I like it. It's a greath 2nd phone next to (soon to be) my K750. I agree the phone propably won't sell very big (as big as K750), but the dimensions are okay and the featureset very impressive (for a mid-segment phone). It all depends on how it's gonna be pushed (marketed) by SE. The 1.3 mp camera, bluetooth and HTML browsing should make it a good competitor for nokia's mid-level (and ugly) symbian phone's (like the 3220). Greath pay-as you go or low-level contract phone. SE managed to fix the biggest downside of the S700: it’s SIZE.

It has an array of interesting features, like flight mode and no transmitting mode etc. It is really feature-packed. I'm eager to see the pc applications suite working.

Still waiting for a revisited Pxxx series with 3G...

this phone seems cool and is oriented to young people and in my opinion could be a good seller. Although I still think SE should release their phones a little faster on the market in order not to loose market share to competitors and also (more important) to make us consumer happy...

please release a K750i with 3G
please revisit and release a P910 with 3G

Thank you

Honestly, how many people will use the strap feature? That is an idea born stright from Japan were it is trendy to wear the phone around your neck/wrist/limbs!

Just think if people actually want to wear it around their neck, mobile phone theft statistics will skyrocket, which will keep the police happy!!!

Odds on it wont take off like most budget phones do!

i wud not agree with you guys

i wud say this is a very good step!!

recently i experienced that people who have a budget of Rs.10,000 to Rs.14,000 they all buy k300i/k500i/k700i/t630 and when nokia users ask why sony ericsson?

iz all cuz in this segment thers no good cell phone of nokia now if sony ericsson goes ahead coming up with new models affordable i think thats awsome for them

P series working in a boom | K series started and went off very very well | S series well they coming out with the phones...and lets c the market i wud say in this world there are all sort of buyers | Z series is all for the once who loves flap and so z200 did went good enuff.... now lets c the very new once...

i wud say its a very very good start as Sony Ericsson has not yet made the mark in the cell phone world it still ranks 4th or 5th but its worth to be on TOP

Off topic: I'm waiting for the new Pxxx phone its gonna wild..man...

To what is the w600 more closely related? W800 or the S600?

quite clearly its more closely related to the S600 since it shares exactly the same form. it just happens to be loaded with the walkman branding

@Indiandawg

As for Nokia is concerned, their latest phones have stolen the SE dual front concept. How desperate... If the S600 turns out a hit they'll probably steal the jack-knife style as well
