Taiwanese company Kemiz has this really cool solar-powered Bluetooth GPS receiver that should work with any Bluetooth device such as a PDA or a Smartphone. With the help of the solar power, the GPS can run for 30 hours instead of 20 hours with the battery alone.

It's not even too expensive with a price of $150 at Semsons

We have this Solar GPS Receiver and have very good results. The low power consumption of only 42mah enables to work up to 30 hours with this Receiver. BT Signal is good and the 8 Satelittes are enough, as you need only 4 for a 3 dimensional Navigation.
We also provide a English & German Manual and have packed a carcharger adapter to the package (plus Battery, Travelcharger and USB Charger

Here you find some technical datas:
A) Output Format: NMEA 0183 V3.01, Baud rate: 9600 bps (standard)
B) NMEA Code: GPGGA(1/sec), GPGSV(1/sec), GPGSA(1/sec), GPRMC(1/sec)
Bluetooth version 1.1 compliant
Bluetooth Class 2 operation (up to 10 meter range

Measure: 86 x 45 x 23 mm, Weight 65g (without battery)
