T68 upgrade on Orange |
ianpeck Joined: Aug 03, 2002 Posts: 3 PM |
Orange just told me I cannot upgrade my T68 to T68i software because they don't support it. Do all new T68's now come with T68i software installed? I'll just get the phone replaced with a new one.

Sony Ericsson told a mate of mine that carphone warhouse are not an offcial "upgrade" point (all stores) and therefore you will void your warranty with the phone if you use them to upgrade.
If you bought the phone from the carphone warhouse in the first place, obviously you warranty is still with them anyway, if you bought it elsewhere... your f**ked.
I'd suggest to ring S.E. or visit the web site and call your nearest service station. |

I've contacted both SE and CPW within the last couple of days and they both say that Orange won't allow them to do the update. Orange, as yet, haven't replied to any of emails. If anyone knows a SE service centre near Windsor (I hear there are two in Slough) that WILL do the update on Orange, can you let me know? eciton90@hotmail!NOSPAM!.com
Cheers folks!

I know you may be a newbie, but it is always worth trying the search function before you post a topic.
@ecition@ The nearest place I know who will definately do it are in Wimbledon. I had my phone done there. It was sent to them by my local phone shop in Reading, WarnerComm. 0118 945 4945
Give them a ring and they will let you know what the shop is called.

I've emailed Celestica and was told no... they're just the advanced repair centre of Ericsson. I have their address if anyone wants it. I might try them again though. Thanks for the thread link!

MPRC have got truly the worst website I have ever visited - complete with shoddy music, awful graphics and crap organisation
Just thought I had to mention that
btw, SonyEricsson refused my persuasive request to bugger Orange and do the upgrade anyway. Carphonewarehouse just suggested that I check their webpage for when the upgrade becomes available on Orange. Cheers.
