@vmali you're on mobile office mate, it is meant for web purposes so there is no way either you or govi(also on mobile office) wont be able to access the web. Now comin to the dial up number...that is actually NOT a dial up no but a code that instructs your phone to dial the data account no x where x is *99***x# |

@manish check some settings:
1) Have you enabled proxy...for ex on my pc apart from enterin settings i also have to enable it first
2) Enter proxy server adddress as 10.10.1.100 and NOT 010.010.001.100 (btw if your default hutch settings come with a diff ip add then you'll have to enter that) Also verify port is 9401(also try 8080 for hit n trial purposes) Btw these settings have to entered in http proxy slot so make sure you're enterin them there.
3) Clear cache,cookies etc and try later at night coz you may be facin network congestion.
If still doesnt work then i'm afraid i'm clueless...maybe hutch have blocked it or somethin in your city

Guys this forum rocks.
Thanks to clank i have been able to browse the net using my Hutch GPRS connection.
The connection was very slow but that is understandable because i am using an IR Adapter for the PC to connect to the phone. Will try to use a cable or a bluetooth dongle.
Thanks a lot to all of you guys out here that are so helpful.
Regards
Krish

I'm sorry if i'm mistaken but what i kno is that only airtel offers unlimited gprs in the 99/month scheme.. The 99buck hutch scheme is only 4 wap over gprs and mms messaging.. Accessing the internet using the igprs proxy setting on this scheme does not seem to work..

Well i too was skeptical but it does work though its very slow. I could browse and connect to yahoo messenger.
Now i get a basic question. What in a Wap over GPRS connection could make it possible not to connect to net using PC?. The connection is still IP based. So whats the whole difference?. Can anybody throw some light on this? |
