Hi there.
Just noticed something very weired on my K700. I added a new name and number to my contacts list but when I get a SMS or e-mail from that number it doesn't show the name, instead it shows the number. My phone is doing this to two names in my contacts list. I deleted the one and then saved it again - then the name showed again. After deleting and saving the second one, it's name also showed again but then the first one wouldn't show anymore.
Is this a bug?? Maybe I must go see if I can have the software updated?

Yes, apparently it's a bug in R2AE033. I was also going mad today because of this bug, eventually ended up deleting all the contacts and changed the phone book to SIM card instead of Contacts. I hate this bug ...

Any solutions to this bug yet?

My uncle got a K700 with R2AA (I think it was, it was the one just before R2AE033), and he had the same problem with one of his contacts. I couldnt explain why, but after a restart, it worked. Of course he wasnt happy with the idea that he had to restart the phone in order for new contacts to be shown by name and number, in Messages.

Sorry, haven't taken my phone to SonyEricsson yet. Gonna try and take it to them tomorrow to see what the latest software version is in South Africa.

Upgrade my phone to R2L001. Seemed to be giving the same problem. Deleted my whole phonebook and then sent the whole phonebook (via bluetooth) to my K700 from my Z1010 . 'Seems' to have fixed the problem. Anyway, now every time I turn my phone on it asks for my phone lock code! My phone lock code is on automatic, so it should only ask for it when I insert a new sim, but it now asks everytime I turn it on. Anyway, not the end of the world.

I have noticed a bug in the call logs. Sometimes when I go back the name of the contact displayed does not correspond to the number dialed. Dont know if a Master Reset will fix all this.

have the same problem with my contacts list to: when receiving a call from a stored mobile number the name of the contact doesnt appear. the same happens when a message is received and so only the phone number is displayed. finally when copying contacts to the SIM card from the "copy all" menu, the contact name that has the problem is not copyied at all yet it is replaced with another contact which then appears twice in the sim card. the fw version is R2AE033. I sure hope SE intends to fix this bug............!!!

PS note that the issue was resolved by deleting all contacts and the entire sim card contents and then restoring from a backup copy...

I had the same problem, and it was because the same number had managed to get in there twice, check through your phone book and check for any duplicates

110% guarantteeed there arent any duplicate phone numbers nor names entered in the contacts list... however the phone automatically created a duplicate copy in the sim card as explained previously
