"Rumours about 2-megapixels mobiles from
The latest time it has came many statements about that have 1 or more mobiles with 2-mp cam comming. The statements on the internet is most about what seems to be a succesor to the k700i with codename Clara. If the rumors are true it will have better camera and memory than k700i, it will also accept memorycards.
And a source statements for Mobil that has at least one more 2-mp comming. It will be with touchscreen and W-LAN. But it will not be a succesor of the P910i, it'll be smaller and have a design that could be compared with Neonode N1. Mobil haven't got any comments from "

This might just be a dream, if it is 2mp cam, then it must have ext mem, else it will run out of mem very fast. Will se make new software for non symbian based touch screen phones? It can be true, considering several other manufacturer have told about 2mp phones. (At least as a concept.)

I've said it before and I'm sure this won't be the last time I say it but unless they make a permanant move to CCD cameras for 2MP+ then you really won't notice much difference in quality in the images, they will just be bigger!

S700i and V800 already use CCD sensor instead of CMOS.

unfortunately the V800 uses a CMOS camera. The S700 is the only CCD camera in an SE at present
but I am talking all manufacturers not just SE, they really have to get into CCD big time now otherwise its pointless increasing the resolution of the cameras

Ooops! Sorry. I thought the camera was the same in both phones.
@harvey
CCD or CMOS are the camera sensors.
Digital Cameras have CCD sensors which are way much better. I mean... more... hmm... sensitive.
And camera sensors have nothing to do with screen.

actually there should not be alot of difference theoretically between CCD and CMOS but CMS requires alot more manufacturing precision apparantly and until that can be achieved, CCD does give better results as is what is used in most (non phone) digital cameras. CMOS is cheaper and thats why its in phones but it really is time to make the switch IMHO

CMOS sensors are also much less power hungry than CCD. I thought that was the major reason for putting them in phones...

yeah, they are lower power and also smaller than the equivalent CCD so I guess all these factors add up to why they have been used... until now... hopefully the S700 will be a "proof of concept" that its time to change

About the article: mobil.se are probably just relaying information from this forum and mobile-review, so don't take this as a confirmation of anything. It's all just indications of something new (about time as well, imho) is coming from SE.
How about a new 3G-phone?
