K500i Phonebook problem |

I have recently bought a SE K500i, and have a problem with the phonebook. When I recieve a text message from some people in my phonebook, it only displays their number that the message was sent from, not the contact's name. With most of my contacts it displays the name correctly, but with a select few it only displays the number. Also when I call a contact from my phonebook, it calls them correctly and displays their name (and picture) correctly, but when I look in my calls list it says that I have phoned a different contact. Yet, if you look to see what number was dialled, it shows the number of the contact that you ment to dial. I was wondering if any of you could shed any light on my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

There has been similar problem reported. A syncronising with pc may do the trick.

This a known problem that can be solved. Read this and related links: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=75456#post1007804 |

hi,
Usually phone numbers are stored in:
i) SIM card memory
ii) Phone memory
If you erase the contact details from SIM card memory, other applications like "sms inbox" will not show the name of the smsed number.
Similary the call list will also not display the name of the called/received number.
So, one way to remove this issue is to select the "Auto save on SIM" option in phone book.
[ select phone book, options>> Advanced options>> Auto save on SIM ]
Regards,
