Anyone know why I can't set wav files as ringtones? Are they restricted by vodafone like mp3's?

I converted tranquil's dying Nokia wav to an MP3 and now it's my ringtone.

But killer dude's right. They'll play, but max sampling rate is 16.

I didn't know that either, thanks. BTW, why do you want wav anyway, why not convert it to mp3 so you can use it as ringtone?

@blackspot

I was trying to get round the vodafone restriction on not being able to use mp3's as ringtones.

Guys, what software you recommend for sondnig/downloading sounds to phone?
I am new SE K700i user and I have only the official software (distributed with phone), ut I'm quite confused with the sound editor...is it good for sending sounds(mp3, wav) to phone?

One more question: Can I send the converted mp3 ringtone to phone via IrDa, or only bluetooth?
Again, please what software to use for sending?

thanks a lot

govi - goto the phonebook, edit a contact and you can assign a ringtone for the contact.
