I have a problem and I need some help.
I am an American living in Italy. I would like to buy a datacable for my t68. Problem is I need to know which cable I need etc. because I need to write it down since my Italian is terrible.
Also if someone could help me. What software would I need for transfering ringtones, themes, background images etc to my phone once I get the cable.

I know it's a stupid question. But I really could use the help.
thanks
Guy

You need one of these cables:

  • RS-232 Cable DRS-11 (SonyEricsson original)
  • RS 232 Cable DRS-10 (SonyEricsson original)
  • Some other RS 232 Cable. I use a cable from Mobile Action, http://www.mobileaction.com (Company from Taiwan I think). This cable was cheaper than the original one, and it works great for me.

For software, check these sites:

  • http://www.christersson.org/software_main.asp (With the program called "Sendfile" you can send everything, themes, pictures, ringtones, to your phone).
  • wap.sonyericssonmobile.com (On this site you can find programs for syncronization between your phone and Microsoft Outlook.)

Good luck!

Ok went out today and bought the data cable.
Got it home and installed the software that came with it.
The Ericsson software worked fine. It found my phone book and transfered my numbers etc.
Next I wanted to install Send File. But I read I had to install some programs from Ericsson first. So this I did no problems.
The problem is that when I try to use Send File the option to select a file is greyed out. Is this something to do with running Win Xp?
Is there something I can do to fix this?

Thanks
Guy

Can any one of you guys (Marton or Evilsummer) help me..!
I bought the Data Cable (DRS-11) and try to install the Ericsson Comm. Sw in my PC. I manage to install the Mobile Phone Monitor but I can't install the XTNDConnect in my PC.
I get this error message "MS outlook must be run prior to installation"
I've tried to run Outlook before installing but I still recei the same messages.

Does WintNT give this kind of a problem or is it because I did not run my mail through Outlook?...FYI I use Lotus Notes for my mail.

Pls help...

I don't know what the problem can be. I run Win-XP and XTND Connect with Outlook works great.

You sholud try to remove all old versions, and download package (XTNDConnect PC for Ericsson) from wap.sonyericssonmobile.com. Mobile Phone Monitor is inluded in this package, so you don't have to download and install it separatly. You can find more information on wap.sonyericssonmobile.com. This should work, but observe that you must have Microsoft Outlook, not Outlook Express.

I don't think it matters that you don't use Microsoft Outlook as your mail-program.

Thnx. I'll try to download the files from the web site. But just one question, I've been to the site bfore and registered to be able to download the file but I can only find a patch file for the original file, is this the same file that you're talking about?...by the way I am using T39m.

Thanx in advance......

It does exactly the same when I try to install the communication sw of the T68i disk! I have Outlook running (not express). I gave up after couple of attempts as I couldn't get my irda to work anyway. Am going to go and buy a cable very soon though so I hope it doesn't happen again!

It's probably something very simple though?
