Sony Ericsson Data cable help needed! |

I want to get a data cable for a friend who has a SE T230 and a Windows PC and wants to transfer themes, ringtones and games.
Does it matter whether I get a USB or Serial cable? Her PC has both connections. Do they both work the same way with FMA, SendFile, SE's MMS Studio etc.
I'm a Mac user so have little knowledge about cables with Windows PCs.
Is there anything else I need to know about SE T230, cables and transferring files.
Any recommendations on which cable to get from the many that are listed on eBay.co.uk?
Thanks.

Thanks, I had seen that thread before posting my question. On your recommendation I shall go ahead and buy a USB cable then! Cheers! |

USB and serial cable work the same. USB cable requires installation of a software driver. Serial cable does not require that step. Newer PCs may not have a serial port, in which case you will need a USB cable, or a serial cable with a USB-Serial adapter.
When buying on eBay, make sure that the USB cable comes with the software driver disc.
