Hi
Just thought some of you might be interested in the fact you can take a picture of the sun today with your Mobile camera and you WILL be able to see Venus in the resulting picture. I used my T610 and the picture is really clear!
Obviously it goes with out saying that you MUST NOT look directly into the sun while taking the picture as this will burn your eyes and they will then fall out causing a terrible mess.
Venus can only be seen up until 12:00pm (midday GMT) today so if you read this after that then you'll have to wait until either 2012 to do it again or the the year 2200 or something! By which time we'll have probably landed on Venus anyway.
Get snapping and enjoy this once in a lifetime experience!!

I got the same. It's just the strong light directly from the sun that makes the black spot, wich actually is the sun.

It must be just the flare effect in the lens, or maybe some kind of CMOS "saturation".

You have to take a photo through the eye piece on a telescope (with sunscreen), or of the plate the sun is projected on. I didn't manage to take a photo of the sun this time, but earlier I have successfully photographed Jupiter and Saturn through the eye piece of a 10 and 14 inch telescope which my society Deep Sky Exploration operates.
