Naked News will soon be available on Windows Mobile Pocket PCs or Smartphones thanks to the Melbourne-based online media company GoConnect.
The Canadian-produced news program has attracted millions of viewers worldwide through its online and cable TV broadcasts, announcing today its new partnership to make the show available on GoConnect's mobile video distribution platform, m-Vision.
Subscribers will be provided with over 200 minutes a month of Naked News footage, in both weekly and daily segments.
Launched in 1999, Naked News broadcasts upbeat entertainment and currents events features read by news readers who begin clothed and undress throughout the presentation.
The program has attracted up to 34 million viewers on the Internet in the United States alone and is broadcast to more than 172 nations daily.
Executive producer of Naked News, David Warga, said the move to portable broadcasting is the "next logical step" for the program.
"You are no longer tied to a television or a computer to receive our unique form of news and entertainment program," he said.
Executive chairman of GoConnect, Richard Li, said he is delighted to "bring such a high quality and popular program to mobile phone users".
GoConnect said it is offering a 25 percent discount for subscription to the Naked News channel until June 30, 2004.
