Quite honestly, although I feel for the kid...what the hell are you doing @ 16 with a P800?? Either he has stupid parents who have money to throw away, or he himself stole it! So cry me a river, but where I come from, you're asking for it!
As long as the kid is ok, all I can say is learn from your mistakes...

dude you gotta learn to not hate on ppl for what they have. So what if someone is ridiculously rich? Good for them!
anyways, if someone mugged you for your phone, wouldnt you be kinda pissed too?

There's a line between ridiculously rich and stupid....sorry for being old fashioned, but I don't see the NEED for a P800 @ 16 years old.
But let's argue that it's ok, most other kids don't have one, which creates jealousy...
I dont hate rich people, i just think that this could have been easily avoided...by the parents of course.

In my view owning a phone that you bought with YOUR own money (and not bought by your daddy) is totally exeptable no matter the age!!
After all the kid might be a tech-freak and want the phone like crazy.. That's a good enough excuse I think..
...I'm frightened by what I see but somehow I know that there's much more to come. Immobilized by my fear and soon to be blinded by tears. I know I can stop the pain if I will it all away... |

Well, If a kids parents are in good economical state they may buy whatever shoe they want for their son. But my father is a ple employed electrician. I was a tech freak since my amstrad at 6. Now when i will get paid in 4 days i will buy p900.

Mobile phone theft is very high over here in the UK and one of the reasons for this is that you have very young kids walking around with phones that cost £££££s and they are easy targets to steal from.
In my opinion I think it is not a great idea to give a kid a very expensive phone as they will become a target by theifs.
I do not think so because i did not have one when i was a kid even though they were not out then.
The way i look at it if I was a theif who would you target.
The kid of 12 with the £300 phone or the 6"2 adult who weighs about 18 stone.
I know who i would choose if i was a theif.

The thieves in the original thread were the losers. They only got a P800.
They should have mugged somoene with a P900.
Anyway all you gotta do in the UK is call 08701 123123 and ask them to block the phone. It will never work again even if you change the sim.

um if you got mugged and someone took your p900 from you, it wouldn't be a problem? Oh no problem at all, officer! I seem to have 'misplaced' my phone!

It would be a problem, but it wouldn't be that big a deal that I'd create a thread about the incident. I've been robbed before, threatened and beatened because of my phone, and got used to it. My insurance covers it and, what's even better, I get money for the damages.

@ marceta
You're lucky you're across the ocean, I'd steal your phone myself! lol Very ignorant post, I must say...
@ ephil_24
I agree, if it's with your own money, shit, do whatever you want. I'm just saying that if I'm a parent and I have money to do whatever, I'd do something more creative than making my child an easy target, as our friend daveryley says...
