VersaLaser™ can transform images or drawings on your computer screen into real items made out of an amazing variety of materials… wood, plastic, fabric, paper, glass, leather, stone, ceramic, rubber… and it’s as easy to use as your printer.

well I just think the whole conecpt is fantastic and out of the future and almost certainly in a few years time, like all technology, the price will become more reasonable. I'm just blown away by this one

there's no doubt it's a pretty nifty device. in all seriousness though, you can probably expect that one day this type of device(albeit a more advanced version) will be used to make working products.

EDIT: if you watch the video, it's actually a laser cutter/etcher so it's still more or less 2D, and not dissimilar from industrial units, so perhaps not such a HUGE leap in technology. making it run from a desktop is a pretty fair achievement though. IMO the real advance is in the innovation rather than the invention.

What about that new Teleporting device, it lets you move from one place to the other instantly, I have seen people use them on the telly and in a series of spin off films. it looks great, i want one.
