Ok, I Have searched on god knows how many other forums and this one and I just seem to get diffrent chunks of information...
My questions are:
1. What is the latest version firmware that is available
2. Can i upgrade the firmware myself?
3. If so what do i need, what sort of cables, programs, software?
4. If 2 and 3 are possible where can i download the latest firmware...
5. How hard/easy is this to do...
Thanks very much for your time on reading this, if you could shed some light on this i would be very greatful...
P.S. If your going to spam and say 'Use the search' i have said i already have tried that, and i would prefer if you kept it to yourself instead of spamming a newbie... Thanks once again |

No, unfortunatly you can't upgrade the phone yourself. A service center have to do it for you. I think the latest firmware is R6b.

while I personally would not recommend to do it yourself, it is possible.
In the Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style) you can find the answer to many of your questions, and a link to a tutorial by another member for updating the phone yourself.

As everything, it depends on how you defiune the word "can". Can by the manual or can for real... And as masseur said, there's a difference between can and should...

Here is a direct link to the tutorial that is referenced in the "answers to common questions" thread
I've never done it myself but I have heard of people who have screwed it up and made their phone inoperable, presumably requiring a visit to the service centre
