NOW!!! no more second thoughts!!!
...will hold on to my very trustworthy T39m. the backplate paint was fading a little, but sanded off all the paint then buffed it and !!!! shiny backplate made it much better to look at.

The colours of the covers was a great idea too. /// Choose always the right colour palette to the fones. I missed only black covers.

I think that T39m will be a rare masterpiece of collectors. It will be like a Mustang of 60's -rare and expensive. Bytheway my car is a Mustang. Do not sell Your T39 because it is worth of 500 euros in the near future.

I remember I waited for T39m over a year. Finally I got it.
But the first T39m had problems: flip was rattled and creaked (to compare with very stable flip of T18s). All incoming calls have very dim sound. Then it lost some calls, I mean, suddenly there was silence during a speech. Plus some more mistakes. So I replaced it.
But the second T39m had some fabric fault - the battery did not last longer that 2-3 days. The battery status always showed 60-70 hours left after charging.
So I got third phone. But its body and also keys rattled ja creaked quite strongly. Also the flip.
I sold it. But I liked the design and features of T39m so much that I wanted another one. I looked for the one with dark blue colour. But then Ericsson joined with Sony and they stopped to make those phones.
I still regret that I had bad luck with T39m. But I still love the design of T39m. And if SonyEricsson would make special limited edition of T39m again, I guess, I would buy a new one. |

this is how i felt everytime i bought new phones so far...
T610 to P900 : wow!
T39m to T610 : hmmm.... this is good...
T28 to T39m : WOW!!!
i felt like the t39m had answered all my prayers and gave 'everything' that i found lacking from t28. and i meant 'everything'. i was so satisfied and blowned away with the t39m. sadly, that old feeling of total satisfaction and joy is never again be repeated, even by the p900.
but i think in all fairness to other phones , the t39m just came at the right time (in regard of the functions). it was a really huge step-up for a mobile phone with the introduction of bt, excellent battery life, more organized contacts, better voice dialling, wap, etc, etc. it was like an evolution era for mobile phones and not merely an improvement. everything else (at least to me) introduced afterward is just an improvement. so its no wonder that the t39m will always have a significant value in our heart. i guess its the same thing when color tv first introduced. now it would be difficult to experience the same level of satisfaction like we once had when first buying t39m. it would require another huge step-up, so till that step-up materializes the t39m is still is the best phone ever for me...
@boba yup i think it would be great if se relaunch an upgraded version of t39m that incorporates most recent features in a phone today although the screen size is a bit tough to increased. i dont think it would be really beneficial to se (financially) but, considering the sentimental value, at least it would be great for us who still have a strong feeling for the t39m..
me for sure will buy one! and maybe others too? |
