Can anyone tell me their experiences using the T39 ? Cos I would like to purchase it but I am not very sure if i should. How is the menu speed and text speed on T39 ? On the scale of 10 how much would u give it ? Any problems to note on the T39 ? I heard of t28 burning their batts if overcharge and I hope T39 doesn't. Your comments are welcome .... |

Just got a T39 last march, and I can't stop raving about it. Ok your right, the T9 leaves a lot to be desired. It really is slow. But, you learn to live with it like all the other ericsson users. It seems the phone features make up for the slow T9 input. About the slow menus, SE seems to have fixed that with the newest firmware upgrade (R4A008).
I must warn you though that if you are a nokia user, things will be very frustrating the first few weeks. I still get lost sometimes (after 7 years with a nokia).
With regards to battery life, mine lasts 3 to 4 days with a reasonable amount of GPRS WAP use because of this site.
Rating? I'm inclined to give it a 9, 10 if they get to fix the T9 speed. I've read in another thread on this forum that the satisfaction ratings are higher for the T39 than for the T68 (basically the same phone but with color and other extra fun stuff). I guess T68 buyers just expect a lot more from their colored phones. Why I bought a T39 over a T68? I guess I was just being a bit practical. The premium of color (only 256) does not appeal to me right now. besides, in my opinion, the T39 looks better.

I suggest you do a search of the forums about other t39 postings to find out the opinions about it. This thread is actually redundant.

I still have my T39m (With the first software release), and it’s a very stable phone even with the old software. It’s pretty much equal to the T68 in options, other than the color screen, games, and MMS. I’ve had no problems with my T39 at all.
I also believe the reception is a lot better than the T68, as I just did a field test today inside a concrete building with both of them, the T39 still remained connected to the network while the T68 just gave up and said "No Network". I wonder if the reception can be improved on the T68?

I have mine for 7 months now. The first one have been swap because some problem like text scramble, light dead and so on. The new one work just fine. My suggestion is get the hardware firmware at least R2A and the software R3B or more.

I am a user of an ericsson t39 for quite some time and i believe that its a superior fon compared to its nokia contemporaries (all nokia monochrome fon). Bsds its size, the features are great (GPRS,IR,BLUETOOTH,TRIBAND). I dont think there are monochrome nokia fons have as much feature as the t39.
To ericsson.... I SALUTE YOU GUYS FOR MAKING A GREAT FON!!!
The answers we find are never what we have in mind so we make it up as we go along......

I had a T39 and i can only say one thing: GREAT PHONE.
It has it all.
Maybe the menus and texting is a little slow, but nothing to worry about.
One advice: Carefull with the slider. It's very fragile.

been using one for nearly 3 years now with virtually no problem at all. truly one of the best mobile till p900 imho. simply love the design, ease of use, powerful features (still is compare to most recently released mobile phones), durability and not to mention excellent battery life. most of the times i prefer to use t39m than p900 and definitely t39m over t610 (which i think much slower than t39m)
in a scale from 1-10, i'll give it a 12 |

I used to have a /// T39m too. I liked it very much, even though I thought it was a bit slow when writing short messages (SMS) and despite a FW bug related to the calendar reminders.
One of the best things with the T39m is its very small size compared to its many very useful functions.

Ten points to T39! I own three phones of different colours and the oldest is 3 years! Best phone ever! Try to find 3/8 inch antenna and a leather case! A good choice!
