I've just checked and my brand new T610 (delivered last week, manufactured 03W32) is featuring firmware R1A081 which seems pretty ancient! Can anyone tell me exactly what imporvements I can acheive with the latest firmware? |

thanks birthday boy!
i've had a read through the 9 pages relating to the latest version of firmware, but theres obviously a huge gap between my current version and the latest. but i guess it would be wishing too much for a detailed summary of all firmware releases and the related fixes and improvements! |

sorry, there is no such beast... so I did some research for you...
There is very little difference between R3C and R3B as R3C just fixed a glitch in R3B and came out only a few days later.
Here is a summary from wrath regarding the R3B changes.
Here is the R1L thread and the first post gives some good idea of what changed.

To get the firmware updated, you must take your phone to the nearest sonyericsson service point. Their number should be on their website. If you live in the uk you can take it to the carphone warehouse who do upgrades.

thanks, owen, also would you know anything about this problem? I recently bought a T616 phone and have run into one problem with it, when i try to record a voice memo the voice memo comes out perfectly, but if i try to record a conversation (one of the phone's many wonderful features) the recording comes out garbled- sounding like a tape being played in fast forward or something like that. I have tried it several times, even in areas with excellent signal quality. I tried calling voicemail and leaving a message- when I recorded this whole conversation only the automated woman voicemail voice was recorded everything else (my voice) was still garbled. I tried a new T616 also, same problem. Let me know what I should do. I appreciate your time.
