I had my T610 flashed with R1L software today. I think the SE engineers were just working on uploading it to Emma II because there were only 3 language pacs available, wich means I can't see if the long awaited Icelandic input has arrived to the T610 like it has to the T100 and T310.

The changes I have noticed so far are these:

The phone seems to work faster. Maybe it's just me, but I think it is.

The phone doesn't freeze for 30 seconds if it receives a SMS from an alphanumeric sender.

The Screensaver clock has a different font. I would say it's clearer now.

Syncronization seems to go smoother now.

I haven't had the time to check if Bluetooth has been improved at all. Hopefully the EU3 Language pack comes in tomorrow so I can have my phone flashed with it.

---
...in addition to the above

- shutter delay problem fixed
- crackling sound with HBH-30 fixed
- clock font size change
- picture size indicator in camera mode
- faster WAP

And I'm happy tou announce that the Icelandic input has finally arrived! It is awailable in the same language pack as Danish, German, French and Netherlands are receiving. For me, it's a good feeling to beeing finally able to write my name correctly on a SE phone.

No doubt this software will NOT be available for Vodafone branded version... Last time I asked SE service centre about the latest firmware version they referred me to Vodafone who, as usual, didn't have a clue :-C

North, don't be so negative. Branded P800s can be upgraded so there is no reason that the T610 won't be upgradeable too.

This new version sounds great but I am waiting for my Abyss Blue to arrive so I can send this Aluminium Haze one off to Celestica for the hiss fix and I'll get them to do the upgrade at the same time.

Hello there, I’m looking forward to upload the new software R1L.
I’m still checking with the SE service center in Malaysia. Hopefully they have the new software soon.

@Cytech

Do you know R1L would fix the BT crackle and static problem when I use HBH-60 with T610?? Or is a hardware issue on T610 ??

If I'm not mistaken the cracking sound it’s because of the software but I'm not sure R1L would fix the problem.

@ masseur - It's SE who are being negative in my opinion if they just tried answering a question for a change instead of telling me to speak to Vodafone over a firmware version then I might have something to be positive about

Crackle with HBH60 is fixed, my service center just called me and said they have tested it with their T610`s and a HBH60 for me, so I will get mine upgraded tomorrow.

Anyone with the new R1L - please try an HBH-60 with it. I have the T610 static problem and I don't want to send in the phone until I know they actually have a fix.

There must be someone out there that can test it!

I have a problem with a low speaker in my phone...

Demon106 told me:
Some of the T610s that had the hissing problem were "fixed" by turning the speaker volume down. This solved the hiss, but also had the effect of making it hard to hear your phone conversations and ringtones.

So I am wonderring if I get my phone updated and the speaker becomes louder will the hissing problem return? Anyone who nows if it's fixed in this new software?

By the way, is Firmware and Software the same?
