T610 to PC - 4 Hour Nightmare |

Hello,
I'm very happy with my Sony Ericsson t610 but have just spent the past 4 miserbale hours failing to get a bluetooth connection to my PC.
I've tried the software that came with the phone on CD ROM (PC Suite version 1.0.0). I've also tried the Pack1_1.5.7 and FullFunctionalityNonOutlook_R4A_english (I don't use Outlook).
The futherest I got was, I believe, pairing the devices. The computer searched for the phone and found it and then I authenticated it with a pass key. So my t610 is listed on my PCs Control Panel > Wireless Link > Bluetooth. However, when I run Sony Ericsson's "Phone settings" it never finds the phone.
I've tried everything and still can't get the functionality I need out of the phone, I really need some guidance and I hope you can help.
Extra Info:
I've had a Bluetooth game of MiniGolf
My Infrared is working (I can send files to and from the phone)
My Spec:
Sony Ericsson t610
Windows XP
Bluetooth Reciever used: The one that came with my microsoft bluetooth mouse
Please help me out. Thank-you.

I got the same pb: the communication suite that came with my t610 never detects it through bluetooth unless i use the data cable. However, i am able to transfer images, themes and ringtone from the pc to my t610 or vice versa via bluetooth using the xchange software that was added to my pc when i installed my bluetooth dongle.
I'll keep followin threads on this post to c if someone comes with a solution too. Otherwise i've tried everythin i could like activatin all bluetooth ports but nuthin happened...

Thanks for the link wrath000.
I'm having trouble finding out which com port is the correct one to activate.
In this message:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=38877&forum=18
it states:
"When you open a "Serial Port" connection to the phone, the COM port used will be reported to you."
This hasn't been reported to me.
If I use the pc to find my phone, I can authenticate successfully with passkeys. However, If use the phone to find my bluetooth pc, my phone asks for a passkey whereas the computer just doesn't anything - no passkey is given - so I can't pair the two.
Hope someone can help me out on this.
Thanks,
Paul

Go into the Bluetooth neighbourhood, then into your phone services. Right click the "serial port 1". Choose properties. The COM port used will be reported there.
When you initiate pairing from phone watch for notification messages in the windows tray (the bluetooth icon)

"Go into the Bluetooth neighbourhood"
Where might I find that in Windows XP?
"When you initiate pairing from phone watch for notification messages in the windows tray (the bluetooth icon)"
I don't have a bluetooth icon. Should I?
Thanks for the suggestions

Microsoft bluetooth does not support serial connection. So you can not transfer files.

You have a blutooth hardware problem if your phone cannot find the PC, you must uninstall and reinstall bluetooth software..mine gave me the same problems, now it works fine...hope you come right.
