I am guessing that you have a T68?

Which carrier?

Firstly you need a method of connecting the phone to the laptop. Best is Bluetooth, then InfraRed then cable.

THen, you need to set up a modem connection.

Then, if you want to browse web pages, you need either a dial up connection or an internet gprs connection.

Give us a bit more info and we can help - or point you to a solution already here

Browse internet throught WAP gateway? You can't do that, the WAP gateway is ment to be used by the WAP browser, only to access WAP pages

You can use internet on your PC through your mobile. You can either connect using GSM (dial-up, same way as any other dial-up account), or GPRS.
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

wrath only to access wap sites? i dont think so. whith a wap gateway u can acces xhtml sites. so if you have a browser/program that connect to a wap/web site via a gateway u will be able to surf. if someone find such programs please let us know. here in romania orange has wap unlimited but u cant receive/send data if u are connected with a pc and without a wap gateway. so with winwap in gateway mode i can surf wap pages

@DSF: every sunday you can browse the net for free using the internet and speed APNs. This is for everyone who has an orange GPRS service activated. @all: i wrote a tutorial on how to browse WAP pages on your pc using your phone WAP GPRS account.

I surf the web with my T610 all the time using GPRS. All you need to do is load up the CD software that came with your T610, install the T610 modem driver, and configure your connection using the Sony Ericsson software and you're off and surfing.

I can surf all sites.

BTW, I'm a T-mobile customer and I have the $9.99 T-Zone plus plan which give me unlimited T-Zones.

@DSF: Here is the tutorial. Please feel free to post it or even alter/add some things in case you find it unsatisfactory. I still have to find a good WAP 2.0 (xHTML) browser, the one I did find did not support setting up a gateway. Will try the one you mentioned when I have the time. Have you tried the free Orange internet yet? I did - it's not that spectacular in terms of speed, but it's ok and it's free so no right to complain. I'll also PM you when I have the time to discuss the WAP unlimited from Orange - I find it to be totally unreliable.

Well, when I said WAP pages, I ment wap/xhtml/html light.. The point is that the WAP gateway is still going to be the middleman between your phone and the web pages you are trying to access.
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

@judge i havent tested orange internet. i dont have wap unlimited, 2 friends of mine have. But several times the gprs of orange doesnt work (eg: network error, the pages are loading slow sometimes). I have tested wap unlimited with siemens c55, r520m, sagem mix-5m. I've compared orange and connex gprs on my r520m: connex gprs loaded the pages faster. Apart of that it worth the price - 4$ per mounth for unlimited wap access
