I got a mail from eBuyer the other day and they have this BlueTooth Dongle on offer. It seems like a good deal, but I thought I'd ask for people opinions wherether it actually is.
I would be using it with a PC and Win XP Pro
So what do you think?
Cheers
K.

its hard to tell wheather it is good or not by the reviews, some people think its great and others think it crap, you might get lucky and work for you. at £17 its cheap. i payed £40 for different one out of maplin. its up to you wheather you want to spend £17 and take a chance. i havent found it any cheaper anywhere else.

It has arrived and it works!!!! yay
Bluetooth for £20, not bad eh??
Now, could any one tell me how to set up my internet (using either the standard browser or Opera)to surf the web using my PC's ADSL connection via BT?
Cheers,

The way to set it up really depends on the dongle mate.
Each set of drivers has a different way to set it up. I've never managed to get mine working with my Mitsumi BT dongle.

My Bluetooth seems to be working ok so far....
Device:
CSR USD Bluetooth Device
(Cambridge Slicon Radio)
Type:
USB
Software:
WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 1.3.2.7
I just need to figure out how to do the surfin' bit.
I found this post
Browsing on your P800 via ADSL
but Opera seems to always bring up the connection globe
as far as your Mitsumi dongle....this thread mentions something regarding it:

Hmm,
it is really wierd, but I think I can browse the web using my ADSL link, through BT but only when it is in the USB cradle...is this normal? (what is the point of that?)
How can I get it to work 'remotely'?
What should my next move be?

I tried the IOGEAR BT-USB dongle.
Crashed XP - blue screen!! The only time I have ever seen it. Happened repeatedly. Support suggested I uninstall and reinstall. I did it to no avail - so I uninstalled and returned it.
Crash would happed during Synchronization. |
