Forgot to ask this before I go forever.
10 = 2870 mAh
10ii = 3600mAh
10iii = 4500mAh
10iv = 5000 mAh
5 = 3140 mAh
5ii = 4000mAh
5iii = 4500mAh
1 = 3330mAh
1ii = 4000mAh
1iii = 4500mAh
1iv = 5000mAh
Why not doing this since mark 1? |

I know many of you were once again let down by another Xperia product because we all hoped once more that this will be the year when Sony will do the real big thing when it comes to sensors and hardware.
I don't think 1 IV is a let down, as a matter of fact 1 III is because this is what 1 III should have been from the get go. Besides battery, screen and internal arrangements most of the camera stuff and battery endurance is software/firmware upgrade. Finally we can use all cameras equally, sure main sensor will remain supreme but being able to burst 20fps in HDR on other two cameras is a huge thing (for me at least). Video Pro is a must for me now, I could never go and buy 1 II/ 1 III even for cheap now that I have used Video Pro on my PRO-I. I am not into vlogging but false color on the view monitor is a big deal, as well as premium YouTube account for those who are into vloggin. I doubt these features will come to PRO-I because Sony wants you to buy new hardware in order to get new software tricks. The only product I think differs from that philosophy are BRAVIA TVs for now.
Anyway I found rumors of 48mp sensors pretty hard to swallow but then more and more rumors started to come form very credible people and I was like fine, at leas the main sensor will be a quad bayer not that Apple is switching to 48mp shooter and Sony will latch onto it since Samsung is not using Exmor anymore. But somehow I couldn't go past the fact that Apple would allow Sony to debut it's new sensor before the iPhone 14, that didn't make any sense in my head why would Apple allow something like that. And they didn't. We know for a fact that 48mp quad bayer is coming to Xperia since some have seen it in action and 1 IV or should I say 5 IV are the last phones with all three 12mp bayer module inside. I also doubt we will see PRO-I successor anytime soon but if they do there is a possibility they will cram in 1" 48mp qb sensor in straight from Sharp R7.
Overall if you don't have 1 III or PRO-I you should definitely upgrade to 1 IV |

Not related to the mobile phone but I feels like Sony is ditching the premium portable speaker market From their last Hi-Res certified portable speaker - h.ear go 2 from 2018 - to the current day, Sony demonstrated no care to the premium segment and only pumping Extra Bass nonsense, a direct contrary to the "Music Lovers" motto. Even the glass speaker has its audio quality downgraded. Im sad to see this situation only getting worse and I cant do anything to reverse this.
I still holding on to my dear h.ear go speaker from 2016, an obsoleted product still beating the most expensive Sony portable speakers today...I wish to see a "Sony Signature" portable speaker in the future.

there are still 3 speakers coming, SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200, unless sony decided to cancel these.

They are not Hi-Res certified portable speaker and certainly not a premium one for music lovers. I even putting them in the "Extra Bass nonsense" category. |

Sony wont use 8+ Gen 1 SoC in its current 2022 era products, that including the next PDX-224 device thats under production and to be launched later this year Maybe in 2023 that will change, but I wont hold my breath. Skipping to 8 Gen 2 (SM8550-Kailua) is maybe the better option.

Yes I foresee it too. Because I don't see Sony using any processors with the pro /plus version for previous generations of mobile for a long time already. It seems this was in their plans. Even the xperia pro and pro I series do not get it. Hope next year they get a very efficient and powerful chip (TSMC and Qualcomm combine ) |

Tried the Xperia 1 IV under stress and it gets really hot, particularly when doing video. I'm always a little skeptical when it comes to the new Snapdragon chips because sometimes they kill the experience. Waiting to see what the Xperia 5 IV looks like before upgrading but most likely will get the 5 III for half the price. |

If Sony was right in their head they would make another double header debut of 1 IV PRO version and 5 IV for later this year. But I have a feeling one of the two will not come out this year. |

Why not the 1 III and which one do you have currently?

In this review of 1IV he actually says that he encountered no overheating issues. |
