Does anybody know the release date? I'm ready to place pre-order, but not sure where to get it from since I'll need it shipped to Canada. Are there any Taiwanese websites similar to clove.co.uk? Would be lovely if I could get some pre-order goodies as well, XZ2 had some ridiculous stuff bundled in |

I don't know the release date, but I've emailed Swiftronic.ca last week asking if they would carry XZ2P, and they said :''we will definitely carry the XZ2 Premium once it is released. ''
So maybe you/we wont have to buy from outside the country, but the chance we have a bundle are low I think. |

Those look pretty good, seems like zackbuks is in posession of the phone. If he is, I hope he will shoot more comparisons with P20 Pro and Pixel 2.
Thanks, glyptho I've never heard of that website before, but they seem legit. Did they mention anything about the price? At least ordering from Canadian retailer will give me a peace of mind if something is defective with the phone. It's a shame the phone won't be appearing in the UK. My last 3 Xperia flagships I've ordered from clove.co.uk, and all of them had something bundled in. |

not that impressed consider those pics are taken in broad daylight. at 100% still get that oil painting texture from the processing. strange.
you can really notice the difference with the MI8...
i expected them to improve... especially in daylight photos.. why is it getting worse?

@john.smith19 : I never bought from them. They seem legit but they have a couple of bad reviews on facebook. And no, they did not mention price. I asked them info for the guarantee for the green XZ2C and they told me that they offer a 30 days in store guarantee, after that you would have to contact the manufacturer in the devices original country of origin. I did'nt contact sony to see if the garantee would be honor. How does it work with clove for the guarantee? |

@glyptho I've never actually had to have any warranty claims with clove before, as phones had no defects, but they claim that they will deal with warranty service in the UK for you, provided you cover all the shipping fees. They have excellent customer service, and Sony devices come with 2 year warranty with them. Looks like swiftronics doesn't offer anything similar. |

That price is way too high so it is competing with the Note 8 and Note 9, I would 100% get a Note instead of this. 73% screen is not good enough, just 0.1" more than the regular XZ2 yet a few more mm in height and width. They're looking for maximum profit from very few sales. Unless the camera is significantly better than the XZ2, its not worth the price. The side by side comparison with the XZ2 will be very revealing, I believe the daylight shots will be the same and that the night shots only slightly better. Also, why not minimum 128 GB memory? The idea is to download 4K content and watch it on the 4K screen so why cheap out like that? A premium price on a premium device should have a premium design and significant benefits over the XZ2. End of story. |

XZ2 Premium screen size: 92.7 cm2, 5.8'',16:9
XZ2 screen size: 83.8 cm2, 5.7'', 18:9
Note 8 screen size: 101.1 cm2, 6.3'', 18.5:9
So the difference in screen size is actually much more substantial than just 0.1 inch. Let's not forget that it's also 4k vs FHD.
I suspect the camera will prove to be noticeably superior, especially in low light conditions. |
