Got my compact for $495 with hbh750 headset, screen protector and usb on the go cable. So far, so good.

Thanks for the camera related responses. I suppose I should just go for 8MP in auto, it will save me SD card space I guess. The wife and I have made our holiday albums with pictures from my Xperia P which all turned out great so I imagine the Z1C will be better.
I got myself a little magnetic adaptor to charge the phone, third party and relatively cheap from Amazon. It works but a couple of times the phone has reset itself and sometimes I get the waterproofing message as the device thinks that the flaps are open. The magnet itself isn't too strong but it does the job.
Other than that everything else is fantastic. Battery is fantastic, I get 3 days in stamina mode. No heat issues after gaming, no lag but the UI is looking outdated. Looking forward to getting the updates and Sirius UI, hope it will be sooner rather than later. I got a cheap transparent hard case so I can show off the lovely yellowness to the world. |

Someone over at xda developers posted screen comparison photos of Z, Z1 and Z1 Compact.

The following photo basically shows how different Z1's white is compared to the other two - I actually like that one the best.
But overall, I think it's pretty clear that Z1 Compact has got the best display. |

Connected the phone to the pc with PC Companion and had there an update waiting for me,still 4.3,nothing big,but noticed that now the camera button turns the camera on also when the phone is in sleep mode.
later I got also an on air update for the phones Album

I went ahead and got it yesterday  . Went with black after all... Mainly because it's the only colour my provider offered. I could still exchange for a white one it, but I think I will be more satisfied with this colour in the long run. Black is just a classic colour that pairs well with anything. I will start later with setting it up, I just charged it so far, so my impressions keep within limits... All I can say right now is that the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact just screams premium smartphone, dat metal frame  .

Was so close to buying this one until I saw that the new Xperia Z2 has timeshift video - something I would LOVE. Do we know if this is going to be added to Xperia Z1 Compact with the kitkat update..?? |
