Back in the old days you bashed X10 for being released with old Android version - 1.6 when the 2.1 was already available. Now, the V/TX/T are already two Android versions behind - 4.0 when the 4.2 is already available and you're just fine with that? Fanboys...

The good ( old ) Xperia Arc was running the newest Android version from right the start, just two months after GB's announcement... Miss you SE

As far as I'm concerned it's not a right to expect the latest version of Android.

You buy the phone as is, if you don't like it don't buy it. It's a bonus to see any updates to future versions.

Supposedly the reason for the JB delay is Sony is working on a new method of rollig out future updates across the entire platform. At least this is the info I've heard from these forums and XDA. If this is accurate, then this will be the last of any update delays. *shrug* wait and see I suppose.

How different will this new method be??First there was the X10 series update then they moved to 2011/12 way of update.
What next? Can somebody give an example ?

It's not chrome,the frame is also made of plastic. Makes the phone light - really light, I was surprised how light it feels!
also love the soft rubbery back (black version). Love the screen. Love the new camera effects. Love the water resistance. Love the size of it it's just right. Great great phone!

Depending on how long Yuga takes to appear, I'll be after this phone.

@rog

How similar is it actually to Xperia T, is there much difference between them in reality.

What about the screen, is it white magic?

@motvikt: no - it actually looks brilliant, not as washed out as images with a lot of white do on the Xperia P

@goldenface: I would say that there are a lot of differences, and they are pro V (even though on paper there are not). If you used the Xperia T for a while and then switch to the V, the V feels like a feather - lighter, more handy in terms of size, thinner, more elegant. Kind of hard to describe. Also, the additional features in the camera (love e.g. the HDR in backlit scenes or the filters and effects) are great. And the Mobile Bravia Engine 2 makes you want to look at those pictures on the phone only

@pauvincent: can't say anything about the TX. But if you compare T and V, then the V is definitely the winner.1. due to the higher pixel density, and 2. due to the already mentioned revamped Mobile Bravia Engine.

Forgive me if I'm not going to try it out
but the v is not an outdoor phone, it's not built for rough handling (unlike e.g. the Xperia go)

@rog

can you give me some info, I wonder about how much Xperia V at slimmest point?

I see Sony and GSMArena state that V has 10.7 millimeters of thickness
it suppose to be at thickest point of device I guess.
