@Dacha

THe importing part and paying the unsubsidized price is gonna hurt, but i've done it for my past 4 phones. which is why i don't usually upgrade every year or two. I'm kind of forced to this time since I damaged my x10.

As far as the coverage map, i don't know about you, but I don't usually go 90% of the places that aren't covered by the 850hz areas. So, for my traveling purposes, I'll have LTE and 3G on the 850 band if I don't have LTE.

So is the 579 euro price the only one available now? that's pretty hefty for a phone. i may have to wait til after the holidays to upgrade just so i can afford it!

It does look a bit like the iphone from the front, sans the iphone home button. then again, you could say that about any rectangular shaped phone, which is just about every phone these days... the back is completely different though.

I imported the Xperia S in March and now have the yellow spots on the screen and no warranty. I hate to spend $600 on a phone again and not have any warranty. I do travel a lot and I need good coverage. My charging port on the X10 broke so I got the S. Now i need an LTE phone.
I sure hope that Sony has something good for the US market or I might go with a different brand.

850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS:
850, 900, 2100 MHz
LTE:
850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2600 MHz

It look like that even the LTE bands will not work on AT&T.

It has some resemblances to iPhone, but as previous poster said, every phone has some similarities. Besides, iPhone is a copied product itself. Does anybody really believe that Apple "invented" it? Come on! Oh, and V has crappy chrome around the corners instead of aluminum.

Where you seen iphonish design there?
Man,Apple used Sony as parameter of "Android don't need to look like iOS" and design wise too.

That would be because the phone's primarily designed for Eurasian and Latin American markets.

You just don't get water resistance, 12MP camera with a dedicated shutter button.

aw man i didn't even think to double check the LTE bands. you are correct. LTE won't even work on AT&T. I guess that makes my decision a lot easier. Xperia T it is for me.

I feel your pain on the warranty issues. That's why I try to import from reputable online retailers, so I can return it to them at least for a refund or some kind or exchange. I won't ever import from ebay for something so pricey.
